Sorry I have not been following along that well here.

Is this an issue with only push button start vehicles?

Has anyone successfully paired a remote keypad with a 2021 Ranger Lariat? I have pushbutton start, and have found a few procedures to pair the keypad, none of which work. Remote start works fine with the keyfob, I just have been unsuccessful getting the keypad to pair.

I called the dealer, they quoted me $400 - $500 to pair it. I laughed at them! That's a ridiculous price.

I could be wrong but I think there are 2 different keypads. One is required for the Intelligent Access/push button vehicles, and the other for those not equipped as such.

There is one for remote start, and one for non remote start. I purchased the one with remote start, but have been unable to pair it. I'm thinking that the 2021 version has a change that requires FDRS programming to add this. I may just have a $80 swizzle stick...

Gotcha, I knew there was something like that differentiating the two.

I'd bet you'd have better luck at another dealership. I seem to recall others getting them paired for much cheaper.

I have a 2021 Lariat with push button start. I had the dealer program the keypad. I was quoted $75 but when I went to pick it up they told me no charge because it was easier then they though. I was very surprised but I like that dealer a whole lot more now.

Hi Benny,

I really do not know if it is just push button start or any vehicle with remote start. You sent me the pad for vehicles with remote start, which I have remote start on my Ranger... It is claimed that the customer of such vehicles does not need the dealer to program the keypad but I can find no instructions for how to accomplish this..... It sits in my shop colleccting dust currently.....

10-4... I think it depends on whether it has or hasn't got remote start, which I.A. has, but it is available separately

With Forscan, the code and some time you should be able to get it paired with your truck. Another member of the forums mounted his inside the gas tank cover. It is really a pretty nice spot to put it. I’ve also replaced the battery in my daughters unit in her Escape. Dental floss removal for the double sided tape. Carefully open it up and replace the battery and it’s good to go for another 5 years. Just replace the double sided tape with the good stuff and off you go.
Can you further explain how you can enter this code in FORScan? I have had no success

I don't believe anyone has had any success with pairing the keypad to the truck, except taking it to the dealer and paying them. Requires Ford software.

Wow really? Ugh.
If you haven't bought one yet, buy it from the dealer who will be programming it. they likely will charge or charge more (if they will code it at all) if you bought it somewhere else.
Shop around to see if there is a difference in pricing.

i bought it on the app for about 100 and paid $24 for programming. There was some holiday promotion so I got 20% off. The local dealer did it for what I paid on the app. The just need the email I got when I ordered. it.
