Thanks for the info. The setting you named are different than what I found. I will give these a try

It turned the link into http://ford-trucks/ instead of https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1654547-auto-start-stop.htmlthis link seems to be broken

anyone have a link that works?
I guess I am a little confused. On this same thread I see 2 different sets of codes for ass.
Realizing that the BCM setting is still enabled either way as I believe it keeps BMS active
BCM 726-48-02 (0100-0000-0179)
One says
FCIM 7A7-01-01 (0076-81DC-1497) enables switch
IPC 720-01-01 (2F0F-3464-7271) enables screen indicator
The other states
FCIM 7A7-01-01 (0076-81DC-1496) and
IPC 720-01-01 (3F0F-1464-7251)
I have tried both. I get on the screen after trip 2 it states ( stop start ) in bold. However I do not get the circle that shows if the ass is working such as when the engine stops the green circle lights up and if it hasn’t met the requirements it’s just greyed out.
Again I had the delete and bought the switch. Updated the settings in FORScan to each of the above. The switch when pressed states on dash that it has been deactivated/activated. Is there something that needs to be activated for the brake pedal when pressed to allow the ass to activate?
Thanks for any assistance. I know some don’t like ass but I would like to use it
Also wondering if it makes a difference if it is activated in both the as built and the user friendly one if they are cancelling each other out.
So just thinking. The as built that I would look at based on my VIN would be without the ASS because that’s how it came from the factory correct? Or would it be different because they deleted it after the fact? If after the fact then I may be able to see something but if it’s the same as when I bought it then it wouldn’t matter unless I had the VIN of another same year same model with ASS to compare too aah never mind I see that you were saying the same thingI did another compare of As Built (22 Lariat w/ASS) to (22 Lariat -Mine w/o ASS)
There are still a lot of Hex-Differences mainly in the PCM
I cannot find my (Compare Files) for Lariat to Lariat (same options) but I do have all of my other compares between the FX-4 Trail Mgmt / E-Locker with Ass and Non- FX-4 with E-Locker and ASS.
The issue is, I do not know how to read line by line of the Hex-Codes and determine exactly what is changed on those lines.
I am sure a (Tuner) can break it down.
The F-150 Forscan Spreadsheet is a big help in breaking it down, but all the Hex Lines do not exactly match the Ranger.
So, if a Hex-Line does not match in your compare, you can Google it or use the F-150 spreadsheet to possibly cypher it.
If you don't know you can pull up your As-Built Files from here (below)
You can also do online searches for the Ranger (Sales) and use the VIN # posted in the sales ad.
and use those as a comparison truck.
Now it is a tedious job to match line by line (printed copies) which is the way I do it.
There are programs out that do this for you, I tried one and it kept crashing or not getting the list to compare correctly.
Note: There are quite a few Hex-Codes that will be different as they are VIN # Related
Here is the As-Built Data Link:

Thanks I appreciate itNo the As-Built files are exactly how it left the Factory.
I did find a few other lines related to ASS that are different and am still weeding through the files.
This is awesome. Thank you so much. I have one question. When you say vin related at the beginning of this message, I’m thinking example vin number 1-5 = 01 as the last 2 digits of the hex code. What part of the vin are you referencing to get that number
