Anyone hear from Jimmy? I sent him an email over a week ago but I have not heard anything. Who won the wheel spacers that he was giving away for us that are waiting?

I'm at a different address than where he shipped me the intercooler for a couple months and sent him an email last week to ask that he send the charge pipes to the new one. He responded that he would update his records.

Checking ESP's website they seem to have very little ESP branded inventory at the moment; they haven't listed the focus rs pipes he shared the photos of yet. On other forums he markets to there isn't any concern I can find although for a small company 15 refunded intercooler and shipping costs are going to sting if it comes to it.

It looks to me that the cold side outlet of the intercooler that was offered us is about the size of the throttle body since I flipped the factory silicone around and that end slips over the flange to check. I wouldn't trust just silicone with a band clamp on it though and presume there wasn'ta trial fit of a production piece done before rushing to offer them. It certainly looks like a well made unit but whomever he contracted with to make them has screwed him in this deal.

I would certainly expect at least some type of update by the first week of July.

I suspect because the initial product was defective it will take a while for Jimmy to recover financially - unless he doesn't. If he manages to get the outlet size corrected in the future I'll be the first to say the IC looks really nicely made.

If you perused the site you'll notice most of what's offered is drop ship type items from other manufacturers. There are a lot of ESP branded items out of stock right now, and the charge pipes he put pictures of on here for another vehicle aren't available yet.

Yes he’s making some adjustments to the ends of the cold pipe that he didn’t like the way they fit..

Good, he's keep someone informed. There's not much to the cold side honestly. I hope it isn't just silicone and a band clamp, that isn't going to be great under boost and vibration.

Band clamp would be a downgrade to me and I'm not cool with that.

I'd return the intercooler if that becomes the solution.

i had the cnc piece that connects to the intercooler redone because I didn’t like the connection it the last sample had. I called the cnc shop this morning and they’re finish with the new sample and are shipping it out. I should have it next week. Hopefully this will be a better fit and i can get them into production and knocked out quickly.
