I'm getting a car, not sure what yet, but I'm definitely done with ford.$15K.....dude buy a new truck. Thats too much $$$$ And a 2019 Ranger is almost 8 years old soon. Time to upgrade.
Water intrusion is a fairly well known issue with the gen 5 ranger, Ford uses a split design cowling under the windshield, which allows water from outside the vehicle to leak into the engine bay under the middle of the windshield, causing pooling on top of engine, which in turn can and does pool around the spark plug boots, then seep into the plug wells, filling the plug well with water, causing a misfire event. Prolonged/multiple occurrences can and will eventually damage the engine.Do you have any idea how water got into the engine? All I can really tell about your truck from your post history is you've been having transmission issues and your truck is tuned and modified.
I'm exploring my options, but I'm getting rid of the truck, and getting a new car.A used motor would be much cheaper. Get a local shop, preferably one where the name ends in “& Son” to do the install. Shop motors here. https://www.car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi
