Engine Coolant Gauge

Does anyone else's gauge read like mine? Not directly in the middle. This angle is from center of steering wheel, but even if I lean over and look right at it, it's still not in the middle.

I don’t think it’s supposed to be exactly in the middle. It’s merely a guideline

Mine is in the exact same location as yours. It's not necessarily supposed to be in the middle. If it all of a sudden starts moving to the right, you may have an overheat situation.

That’s normal - exactly where mine sits.

Rest easy, you have other things to worry about - bucking/surging, mushy brakes, missing bed tie-downs, fuel in oil, bed height, blend door/actuator, fan clutch wiring, leaking roof, taillight thieves, mice, and a bunch of stuff that “should have come that way from the factory”.

Of the thousands of posts on this, there might be 2 or 3 with overheating issues.
Now, my question is, is that really temperature gauge, or just a temperature switch?
I never paid attention to it to see if it varies.
Reason I ask, my 95 F150 had temp and oil switches to the gauges. As long as temp and oil pressure reached a certain threshold, the needle was deflected similar to what we see now.

It’s a gauge. When I tow I use my OBD and Torque Pro app to monitor engine and trans temperatures. As engine temperatures fluctuate the gauge does also

One of the nice things about using a Scan Gauge lll or one of the apps is they give you an exact temp reading....no guess work. They'll also give you trans fluid temps, all kind of boost info, head/cyl temps, mileage info, mpg info, speed, rpm's, ect.
Scan Gauge lll can read 18 different items and you set your own gauge. And, it will also act as a code reader.

That's as far right as mine goes. Thankful it doesn't run hot!

My 2021 reads exactly as yours does....always....a bit left of center. Even if I'm towing....or in 100 plus degree heat here in Louisiana, it never indicates any hotter than that.
