I really paid attention to mine this morning and it seems to stop once the trucks up to operating temperature.

A rattling heat shield...that is exactly how I would describe it too., I just can't tell if it what I hear inside the cab is truly vibration/rattle or just the DI making it's annoying racket and sounding different through the engine cover and firewall. Can anybody else chime in with any insights?
I have the same issue as described in all the previous posts. It is very annoying and to me should not be something accepted as normal. It did not start until I hit 1000 miles and I noticed it right away. I made an appointment at the dealer and it was the first time they had been confronted with the issue. They indicated it was coming from what they called the fuel pressure regulator which apparently includes the injectors. I had asked to compare my engine to two others on the lot and both had the same sound. The noise comes from the module center of the engine directly behind the sound dampening cover on the Lariat model. At this time no action is being taken by Ford.

You got more info from your dealer than I got from mine. All I got was "That sound is a characteristic of this engine". End of story. I fail to believe that the fuel pressure regulator NEEDS to be that loud to operate correctly.

I'll be honest, about two days after I posted on here about it, the sound has gone away on it's own. I really don't know what to make of it, but I had the same experience and reaction as you did.
Just curious as to how many miles you had when you noticed that the buzz has disappeared??

Mine is definitely still present and noticeable at operating temperature. It seems very tied to the throttle, like if i slightly tap the throttle it buzzes accordingly.

I got the buzz too, sounds like a trim piece resonating, not the sewing machine sound. I’ll put my ear to the fuel pressure regulator and see if that’s it.

I just noticed this on my truck as well. It just started happening around 2500 miles. It's a buzzing/vibrating sound not a knocking or ticking sound. If I put the truck in neutral and give it gas I can make it consistently buzz. If I take my foot off the gas it seems quiet. I'll bring it up to the dealer next time I'm in, but if anyone solves the mystery first that would be great! Doesn't seem "normal" for something to suddenly start buzzing. If that's the way its suppose to sound it would have done it from day one and it sounds like most here have just randomly had it start happening well after they purchased it.

Reading up in F150 forums, could it be the torque converter?

Oddly enough, mine went away today. I remember when driving over the weekend hearing a couple small pebbles getting kicked up under the truck. I have the FX4 package. I doubt it, but I wonder if what we are hearing are random pebbles getting kicked up into a skid plate or heat shield and then when they work their way out the sound goes away. The only thing that makes me think this isn't the case is that the sound was there when I parked it last night and I didn't notice it right away this morning. I have a steep driveway so maybe a pebble rolled out?

Mine went away for a couple of weeks and then came back yesterday louder than before. It is not as bad today as yesterday but it is still there. I think it must be temperature and/or humidity dependent....maybe...

I'm really surprised there isn't more buzz in this forum about the annoying buzz. It is definately not pebbles as I do not have the FX4 with skid plates and have not driven in any gravel. Just turned 2K and the buzz is there every day. Can't believe it is normal! Do I just need to crank the radio and ignore it? Any other feedback from someone's dealership?
