For at least 6 months I had the ASS system disconnected at the battery. Everything worked fine and battery was always at full charge and S/S was eliminated.

Got Forscan setup and went to town. Turned off S/S in software and reconnected the battery connection. The other change I made in Forscan is percentage of battery charge. Factory has it set to 75% of full charge. I changed that to 90% and haven’t had a problem since.

Got to say Forscan is the way to go! Allows you to change many other things that you really can’t so easily any other way.
I've searched, but haven't seen a good analysis of where the % charge should be set for the AGM batteries. I've changed some other settings but not that one.

Why did you choose 90% and how did you determine that was the right value, just out of curiosity? I haven't had any problems with the battery running out of power or anything, I mainly want to maintain its life as long as possible before replacement.

I chose 90% as an educated guess. I was charging to 100% for about 6 months so If I was going to cook the battery it would have happened over that time. So after going back to intelligent charging I backed it off 10% seeing how any other battery’s on the market will take full charges without ill effects. Time will tell but 75% of capacity isn’t what I would call good reserves

I would agree from "gut engineering" too. Just was curious if that's how you got there or if there was something more scientific. Fair enough. :)

Good to know. I bought mine in July and never had to worry about the a/s/s until October. One day I was at a light and the engine cut off and I was like . I totally forgot about the a/s/s because the a/c was blasting since I bought it. Bought the LED nightlight and don't even think about it anymore.
When you plug in nightlight does your a/s/s light show off? I've plugged in multiple items and the light never shows off, only turns off when I manually push it.

No the a/s/s will not show off unless you push the button. The LED light has just enough draw to disable it and for a couple of bucks it's the easiest and cheapest way. Unless you already have Forscan than you can do other mods which make that worth it. A Tune will also disable it if you tell them you want that feature.
