I noticed the wholes on mine also. Think it’s worth plugging them ?

Some people have plugged them while others not, claiming the holes help. Personally I think they should be plugged for longevity and aesthetics. There's a whole thread about it here somewhere

What other Drive modes are you talking about?? All we've ever had are D, S and Tow mode along with the Terrain Modes on the FX4. All 4x4s have 2hi, 4hi and 4lo.
On my XLT sport 4 x 4 I dont have the TM button on the 4wd dial. I was referring to the drive modes some have on the shifter. I dont have that button either so the only "mode" I can switch to is the Trailer button.

Interesting....I did just buy an ELM327 so I could do that......With the regular drive modes (if my truck had it) is there an Eco mode?

Craig
The ELM327 is not recommended for Forscan use any longer, but still usable with limited capability. Read about it on forscan.org.

No new Rangers have modes on the actual shifter. Just a + - button for gear lockout.

This thread has gone in some confusing directions. The terrain modes were only ever in the FX4 package. They're activated by a button in the middle of the round 2/4h/4l dial. I don't know what drive mode you're talking about on the shifter, it wasn't ever a thing. No cost reductions here.

I knew about the TM for the FX4's but apologize for the confusion about the shifter mode button. I thought I saw it somewhere that there were different drive modes you could select....Serious case of CMS (Cant remember $hit).
