Bit the bullet on a DI Rinse system. Best move I’ve made in a long time. It’s a super filter that removes all the solids in your water. The result is no hand drying and no water spots. Ive tried it on all my vehicles including an almost black Malibu that I let dry in full sun. It comes with a TDS meter that shows you total dissolved solids in your water.

These make detailing your vehicle so much easier. Amazing how there's no spots on a dark car. I'll most likely look into getting one of these when we move in a few years. I only have a spigot hooked up to my water softener and that does help a lot.

Wow, that’s pretty impressive. In the past I had to race around washing and drying my black Trans Am in the blazing sun.

Hey Alan,

Now, that’s dedication. Is this like the de-ionizing systems they use in car washes for their “spot free” rinse?

Honestly I think it’s better. I let two friends be the Guinea pigs before I bought one. Kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

I went the budget route. Works perfectly. Just rinse and walk away. No drying, no spots.

Although that system might be cheaper in the long run, considering filter replacement. I have space issues though, and needed compact as well.

@Sanctus Rimor rinsing and walking away is quite nice. This is the first year I have been able to do that. I do run around the cars with a leaf blower to get water out of cracks and crevices.

Man, I have been tempted more than once to get something like this since buying a black ranger and living in the desert. What level of maintenance is there or recharging that is done to maintain performance?

Guessing we have about the same water quality in Vegas as you do? I choose the soft water over tap because the salt seems easier to manage but man, with a black ranger, it still drives me nuts.

@awd.nv the only maintenance is to check your water with the TDS meter. When the meter shows XX it's time to change the resin, I just don't remember that number. I'll find it and respond. It also has a bypass to save water on initial rinse, underneath, etc.

Of course it does. ? Sometimes, the obvious just isn’t obvious enough.

Not necessarily. The DI could have stood for “Damper Installation”. Just saying…

I went that same route too. The water is so hard here I don't know how the previous owner lived without one. Plus the hard water is really bad for your appliances, water heater and faucets. For drinking water we just fill 5 gallon jugs are those refilling stations. The drinking water here is just as bad as FL tap water. :puke:
