I have defended Toyota in the past for lagging behind in the Tech area, but a NMH battery pack for this hybrid?! Seriously? Just..wow.

NiMH can be a better choice in cold weather. The Prius AWD-e has one for that specific use case.

Okay, established again, as in every other thread on the topic, Ranger owners think the Tundra is ugly. Got it.

Nobody thinks the elbow touch TGD is awesome? Really? LMAO!

I do. I only watched the section on the gate, but it's cool.

Some of those hybrids remind me of the expression, "too smart by half"!
This is making me rethink purchasing a 6G PHEV Ranger. Seems overly complicated. Maybe, a very long warranty to cover the chance shit goes wrong.

So in our rangers we have 3 heat exchangers or 4 if the tranny has one, many autos do these days. I kind of fail to see the point the article attempts to make of heat exchangers making a vehicle all that more complex, one for each turbo is probably dictated by plumbing as much as anything else and an exchanger for the hybrid stuffs likely going to help with reliability, dodge hellcats have 7 heat exchangers. Is the Ford F-150 hybrid all that less complex ? As far as I've heard the Prius has proven to be very reliable along with Toyota hybrids.

What has amazed me is that Tundra sales have held up pretty well for a design going back to 2006 and abysmal mpg ratings, autoguide has an article on the new tundra referencing the old Tundra getting 15 mpg on the highway, the new model rated at 23. I think a lot of Toyota loyalists will line up to buy this truck - pricey as it will likely be .

The grill on that thing reminds me of the BMW meme...

To be honest , I would probably drive that 2025 though ;)

The Tundra I just can't stomach and the interior is just another huge screen tacked to the dash as an afterthought .

Lol same, I couldn't take that article seriously when he thinks that electric fans are "too complicated". I mean, come on, that's the least complicated thing out of the whole hybrid truck!

That truck is butt ugly. What’s with the new trend of gigantic grills and boxy front ends???

and let’s not forget Toyotas ridiculous pricing.

The truck is mediocre and nothing is really “new technology” so they talk it up a lot to sell them. You could literally put TRD on a piece dog crap and the Toyota fan boys would buy it. The FJ cruiser is proof of that.

don’t get me wrong, Toyota builds mostly quality vehicles but they are over hyping this new tundra

Haha I always seem to be in the minority when I actually love the FJ. There's no other modern SUV that has clamshell doors, 3 wipers, and a manual to boot! I do agree though that it could have been so much more.

But I agree, there's nothing that Toyota makes that pushes the technology envelope and Toyota fanboys are the worst. It's been well known that Toyota uses tech from 5+ years ago to make sure that their cars are reliable. I see this truck as the reliable + good quality Ram. The Ram 1500 is the most comfortable truck with the nicest interior. Now you can get a Toyota Tundra with a comfortable ride and great interior but ditching Chrysler reliability
