Retired, work is a four letter word.
Oh I am not a hater. If you can get out and get O2 through the lungs that is good in my book.

I just like a mechanical bike as light as they can be but, you should still have to pedal and do the work. I think you have inspired me to go out for a bike ride today.

and I love to support parks, including the National ones. Baseball's too if they ever get to it this year.
I will agree, at 73 my biking has been restricted to 5-10 miles, the wife and I got e-bikes and now we think nothing of going 20-30 miles, we keep the PAS set low, get the exercise we like, and get out in the fresh air. E-Bikes have been a boon to the older set.

This inside is pretty basic, it's going to hold bicycles and gear, I still have to do the interior build out for the parts, there's also a water tank under the box so I can hose things down.

Right now trying to figure out if the Icon leaf pack or the Deaver would be a better fit for this rig, as I said before really don't want it to sit too much higher but needs to be a bit further away from the bump stops.

I'd be turning that into a outlander camper...... ;)

OP - Have you considered air bags?
I have, I'm unclear if that would be sufficient for suspending the box or not. I don't quite understand what they do to help the situation. Currently I'm about an inch or so from hitting the bump stops which I assume looking at them have some compression before they actually stop the movement.

The bag is installed between the axle and frame, in the rear, in place of the bump stop. Other suspension components remain untouched (many threads on upgrading the rear shocks though, would be beneficial with the weight you will have)

So when you are fairly unloaded you can ride with little or no PSI (Airlift ultimate has internal bump stop). Then just add PSI for the particular weight you have that day and you get the lift you want

Can support 5k lbs., so more than twice the payload, wouldn't want to go there though

Will check that out, predominantly the box is they think around 200lbs more than the bed was (Unfortunately didn't weigh before and after, so going on the amount of metal and what the builder gave me for information) Four bikes will be between 120-150lbs more, with other gear, we really should only be looking at around another 200-250 lbs in the box, so should be like having 500 in the bed at max.

Yea just another option

That is similar weight to what I would have when going off roading. 400-600 lbs, I put about 25-35 PSI

Add the trailer with another 400lb tongue weight and I put about 55 PSI

Just to give you more of an idea

I was unable to find exactly what I needed to fit my requirements in a vehicle which are admittedly quite specific to me. A lot of folks doing what I'm doing would build out sprinter chassis or promasters but we also RV camp so I wanted a vehicle that I could flat tow behind our RV which rules those out. In the end we decided to buy a Ranger and inspired by the Australian UTE Builds we had a custom service body made for the back of the rig, I'm super happy with how the box itself came out, but it weights about 200lbs more than the bed did so now I'm looking at probably the ICON leaf pack, don't really want the truck much higher as it would like it to still fit in the garage. Note the clearance is not quite what it looks like there, it's off the bump stops right now on the stock suspension and the builder followed the service body dimensions plus putting four beefy guys inthe back and jumping up and down, the tire won't hit.

Interesting to say the least. Actually suprised you didnt find PCOR as they have a dealer in the states(Oaklahoma if I remember correctly). Also I dont recommend icon as the spring capacity is low. The standard Old Man EMU springs hold more.

Ah yes I found mits alloy which is similar. These are not sufficient dimensions inside for my purposes so indeed I found and dismissed all of them before going down this path. As for OME I addressed the issue there earlier in this thread

I did just see that now. Just to give you some quick insight on the Old Man EMU springs. The standard load does loft the rear by 1.6 inches with no extra load but roughly 780 lbs does bring it back to factory height. Understanding the box only added 200 ish lbs it is something to consider.
