Custom service body

I was unable to find exactly what I needed to fit my requirements in a vehicle which are admittedly quite specific to me. A lot of folks doing what I'm doing would build out sprinter chassis or promasters but we also RV camp so I wanted a vehicle that I could flat tow behind our RV which rules those out. In the end we decided to buy a Ranger and inspired by the Australian UTE Builds we had a custom service body made for the back of the rig, I'm super happy with how the box itself came out, but it weights about 200lbs more than the bed did so now I'm looking at probably the ICON leaf pack, don't really want the truck much higher as it would like it to still fit in the garage. Note the clearance is not quite what it looks like there, it's off the bump stops right now on the stock suspension and the builder followed the service body dimensions plus putting four beefy guys inthe back and jumping up and down, the tire won't hit.

Sorry I'm not sure I understand the question? A service body is what they call a custom box built on the back of a truck. I neither meant nor intended to imply I was in any branch of the armed services.

This inside is pretty basic, it's going to hold bicycles and gear, I still have to do the interior build out for the parts, there's also a water tank under the box so I can hose things down.

Right now trying to figure out if the Icon leaf pack or the Deaver would be a better fit for this rig, as I said before really don't want it to sit too much higher but needs to be a bit further away from the bump stops.

Very cool! I was hoping for a kitchen / grill. I'd go for bikes too (so long as they are not electric )

and... +1 on the ICON leafs! Softer on the ride, but not on the height unless you want too. I did ICON's option #2.

This thing is very cool!!! On the subject of spring packs, don't rule out Old Man Emu. They make three different packs for our trucks, depending on your weight needs. ARB/Old Man Emu is quite popular in Australia, and I'm sure quite a bit of the Ute's you used for inspiration use them.

The reason I had ruled out OME is I didn't see an option which wasn't going to increase ride height over stock, and in fact saw several comments that this was NOT an option, I'm hoping to have it more or less stock ride height both for fitting in the garage, and ease of lifting bikes into the box.

And @1pt21gw don't be a hater, e-bikes have their place, just like riding bike parks, but predominantly I ride acoustic bikes....

In joke among my buddies, when discussing non-powered bikes we refer to them as Acoustic, or unplugged bikes... like acoustic vs electric guitar....

Oh I am not a hater. If you can get out and get O2 through the lungs that is good in my book.

I just like a mechanical bike as light as they can be but, you should still have to pedal and do the work. I think you have inspired me to go out for a bike ride today.

and I love to support parks, including the National ones. Baseball's too if they ever get to it this year.
