Maybe someone else with a black light can do the same test. Maybe all our exhaust is yellow ha

I don't have a black light

Still seems like no issue, gunk from new truck/exhaust, and longer drive needed still

I have the same exhaust and I have these "wet" markings as well. I assumed it was oil. I run my engine hard and runs good. Roughly at 30k now, exhaust was installed around 20k.

Two things you might consider before spending hard-earned money at the dealer:
  1. Call Gibson to rule out a new exhaust characteristic
  2. Remove the new and re-install the OEM exhaust to see if the issue persists and can be Ford’s issue to deal with
I know it’s a lot of work but that install will be a snap the third time around.

?
Hard to get that stock exhaust off without cutting it....I imagine that OEM exhaust is in pieces about now....
I have a Gibson Cat Back exhaust....it's not the exhaust. Mine does spit condensation everytime I'm idling for any length of time.

Do you still have the stock exhaust and if so what residue is in it? I’m thinking if you did take it into dealer for this as a possible issue that would be the first question a tech would ask.

Now if it is in both, well that’s a pretty good indicator there’s more to it than just an exhaust swap

Isn't the turbo water cooled, or is it oil cooled? If water cooled, could be a turbo seal.
Water cooled turbos have no “seal”. Water portion is cast into the center bearing housing. Would have to be a porous casting to put water in exhaust. Over a couple decade period I’ve only seen it a couple of times and it was on large Cummins VGT turbos with mega hours on them. Not to say it can’t happen but highly unlikely.

New 2022 XL Super Cab, Only 60 miles on it. Gibson cat back duel exhaust installed. Adjusting the tips and noticed kind of wet inside the pipe, not condensation water. Used UV Light and it glows bright yellow. Coolant blowing out the exhaust, will take it in this week, makes me sic just thinking about them tearing into a new truck. Luckily it’s not my primary transportation.
SOLVED! Washed out inside of polished tips and mechanic friend tested the liquid and said it’s not coolant but fluoresces the same color as coolant under UV Light. Theory is maybe the polishing compound left in the tips or soluble oil used in mandrel bender mixed with condensation water and formed a glowing liquid. Did bonsai run and tips are clear and coolant tank is normal at full line. “Thank you Jesus & forum suggestions”

OMG that reminds me of story. A former coworker who was a diesel mechanic in our shop was tasked to find a leak in a COE International. It was owned by a owner operator couple. I’ll describe the husband as the bug guy in Men in black movie. Wife was a close second. When cab was tilted there would be a small leak that dripped by the passenger side grille area. He did the “taste “ test and couldn’t pin it down. Lowered the cab and while cleaning out the passenger side to get at the heater core he found a seeping half gallon milk jug full of urine. Needless to say everyone in the building knew exactly when he found it. He gagged for about 15 minutes straight. It was funny but not ?
