FWIW, I am a member of several 4G Ranger forums and never bashed Ford at all. I am a member of the Maxima Forum and the Miata.net forum and have never bashed either of those manufacturers.
I have reserved that treatment for Ford due only to the current Ranger's lack of quality.
The transmission issue is just as real and worrisome as the driveshaft issue. I thought I had it licked when I changed the driveshaft. But it is back come the spring warm temps. I mentioned the parabolic rear spring and shocks as I believe they play a role in the shudder my truck had as the diff flexed during de/acceleration. I have no idea why it shook violently at and over 75mph.
I should have a PhD in truck manufacturing before purchasing a vehicle I suppose. Maybe with a minor specializing in 5G Ford Rangers.
I should have known about the warping AC air mix duct (this one has not affected me yet, but I keep the truck in a garage and out of the heat of day).
And all the other issues that have cropped up. The battery that goes dead ever so easily. The transmission that refuses to disengage when stopping, or jerks into gears when up or downshifting in the summer temps. Or nearly launching me into oncoming traffic with me frantically pushing the brake to the floor praying that it would disengage power.
Yes, all those things have happened to me driving my 2020 Ranger.
Trust me just a little bit, I am more upset about this truck then you are about my complaining about it.
None of us, not even you, knew everything about what you were purchasing prior to taking delivery.
So yes, you are correct in all that you wrote. Shame on me for trusting Ford to continue to make a solid Ranger.
I assure you, it won't happen again.
We each have our opinions, and I respect them all, even if I choose to disagree.
