If I had an XLT I'd probably order the "cheap fix" that @rangerdanger posted earlier. It is only a couple bucks and would finish that area off well it seems.

Quite cheezy of Ford, though....
Do they sell ones that aren't quite so......gaudy?

I can deal with the key thing.
Ford took away the engine cover on the XL and XLT's.
Talk about cheesy...

I see my thread was moved here, I’m actually glad it’s not just my truck lol. Now I don’t have to go back to the dealer. I may order something similar to what Ranger danger posted.

I don’t have my truck so can you measure first before buying it?

My 2016 F150 XLT has a ignition lock trim ring. Wonder if it will also fit the Ranger?

I watched a recent Ranger XLT review on YouTube the other day and it had the silver ring that belonged there I had to text my salesman and say “If you go to 9:22 of this video you will see the ring that belongs there” . Still waiting to hear back.

This is unacceptable for a $38k truck. Anyone else’s XL and XLT do this too?

I’m the biggest Ford fan you will meet, but these little cost saving issues are the reason I’m sitting out on the ranger. I had been looking forward to buying one since selling my 2016 F150, but there appear to be too many compromises and cut corners in an attempt to bring a product to the mid size segment. How they are selling this without a 60 40 split in the rear is beyond me.

same issue here with my XLT. stopped to look at an XL for comparison... no ignition ring there, either. both wiggle and jiggle and neither dealer understood why it would be a problem. my dealer said that no ring exists on the exploded parts view that he could order. they mentioned potentially ordering an entire ignition assembly to replace it, but i’d end up in the same boat, so why bother.

Agreed 100%. Things like a 80% fold flat rear seat and as you said, no 60/40.

Other annoyances to me:

Lariat has no power rear window option

No integrated brake controller with the Tow package...or even an option for one.

No 6' bed option on a crew cab

To me, these are no brainers.

Like you, I'll wait untill the next MY or longer. My current F150 is fine, just don't need a big truck anymore.

Here is the pic of the 1 millisecond when you can see the ring. I’ll look for the video but if I don’t get it right, it is by American trucks.
