What part of Colorado do you live in? My guess is you're up in the mountains somewhere
Lakewood for now. This storms epicenter is supposedly the foothills of the front range.

Okay so you're part of the Denver area at the moment. Yeah it's my understanding the Denver area supposed to get hit way harder than the springs.

Anyone planning on driving their Rangers in the deep snow this weekend?

I had to test fit my chains yesterday to make sure they fit on my new tires. Was tight but they fit.

Tight is good! Especially when the temp drops, you'll be glad they were tight to begin with. Let us know how it goes with the chains!

Now I will say if I ever decide to get chains of sorts for my truck I will probably go with Auto Socks. About the same price, more compact for storage and much easier to install and remove

Well can't argue with someone using chains as many Denver area drivers have inadequate tires to begin with. - see chains occasionally and most often on those small post office trucks after a storm, as you may know well " Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds " . So rest assured our junk mail will be delivered on time - and maybe even to the correct address. Apologies to any US Postal Service workers who may be offended by the commentary. :sunglasses:

Anyone want to help me install a 2.5" RC leveling kit in the front? I don't have a jack/stands nor a torque wrench. I'll pay! If not I think I'll go to the diy auto garage in Denver.

Ya, I have 4WP scheduled to install mine. I did the rears but my back and shoulders aren't up to the task anymore.

Where is the DIY place you mentioned?

It's off Washington St in Denver. Diy auto repair. How much did 4wp charge for install? Mine ended up being 266 for 5hrs. Was a good experience but if I had to do it again I'd pay a professional

About $400 to install the fronts. Money well spent.

I'd like to know how much 4wp would charge as well. BigOlBish what else went wrong? Did you take the cv axle nut off to avoid the shaft coming apart? Which kit did you install?

Took the axle nut off but idk if I didn't back it out far enough or what cause it still came out. Other thing was the rear passenger top bolt is pretty stupid. The captured nut broke off and we couldn't get anything on there to remove the bolt. Ended up sawzalling it in half then using an air chisel to remove the pieces capturing the nut to be able to use a normal one

Ahhh I'll have to keep an eye on that axle. I haven't looked into it enough but maybe I'll bring some zip ties or something to hold it back. Trying to picture it. Do you know the name of the mech that helped you? I'll probably see if he's around for when I need the help.

Charles. White bald guy. Super nice super helpful, if it weren't for him idk what I would've done lol. Also I'd recommend just removing the sway bar end link rather than the whole sway bar. A little more time consuming but worth it I'd say. He probably helped me 3-4 times in the 5 hours I was there but they only charged me 1 hour of the assisted price
