I get a slight knock between 0-5 mph right when I start the vehicle. It only happens once per drive. Seems to happen regardless of if I'm in drive or reverse, but sounds louder in reverse. I just installed fox 2.0 leveling kit and it seems like it just started. Initially I was concerned I didn't torque something enough... but sounds like I'm not alone?

Has anyone found a resolution for this? I also have the same issue, and I’ve gone under the truck to check everything almost once a week hoping I find something loose but no luck. I’m only rocking fordrangerlifts 1in level lift. But I’ve had the problem since stock, it seemed to some what disappear for a little bit after the level lift but is now worse than it’s ever been. I feel it on almost every bump, as well as braking coming to a stop and accelerating leaving from a dead stop. It’s so frustrating and it’s driving me crazy. It’s been to the dealer 3 times, first time they said my inner tie rods were the culprit, i received a whole new steering rack, problem still existed, next they basically thought I was crazy lol and my last visit my rear passenger brake caliper was sporadically locking up causing a shudder during highway speeds and while braking, they swore that’s what I was feeling even though I didn’t feel that in my steering wheel and by my feet, but I am glad that got fixed as that was much worse to deal with than this. But before I forget, 21 tremor. I only have 7800 miles, truck has yet to see a dirt road ? and I love the truck but this is not making my drives enjoyable. Thanks for all and any help.

I’ve got the exact same problem going on. I thought I was being hyper sensitive…it feels as if the transmission is garbage… but while stopping, I get this jerk as if the body is loose from the frame. 14k miles.

I have the same issue. Dealer told me they can’t replicate the issue.

Same issue with my 2021 Crewcab. I am having deja vu, back to my 2007 Colorado, that had the same knocking/popping in the steering wheel, due to the wrong kind, or lack of grease, in the intermediate steering shaft. Took mine to Ford last week, and they would not do anything with it. Until Ford gets enough complaints to issue a TSB to re-lube or replace with an updated shaft we are stuck. I filed a complaint through the NHTSA website…so now we wait.

hopefully they can fix this issue. I have a brand new 2022 and the steering wheel clunks pretty bad over bumps. I can only think it to be the steering shaft, everything else is tight.

Is this steering shaft more of just a clunky feel than any "real" issue?

Probably the slip joint on rear driveshaft clunking. You're just feeling it in the steering. Common problem and a simple fix too. Search on here for that issue

Not to revive a old thread but found this on the search and if I make a new thread don't want to get the slight for not searching. I started having the same issue around 7800 miles clunk felt in steering at brake and start sometimes but mainly on turning or any little dip in the road. Now and again I can get it to do it while parked and turning the steering. I was leaning towards bearings or steering shaft but looks like no one has gotten a straight answer from Ford yet.

i never really felt or heard the loose part sounds that i remember but i did have the rear leaf springs shift out of whack on me from not being tightened correctly. fixed it with new leaf springs and spring keepers fore and aft.

You sure this isn't the driveshaft slip yoke joint bump on stop and start? There are a few threads here on it. It is a fairly easy fix if you are ok working under the truck. I've lubed mine, as have others. Folks seem to be hit or miss whether the dealer will do it. It might be worth you lubing the joint to see if that helps. If not, no hard done other than wasting a little time.

I'm going to check this out this weekend. I am getting it on breaking and off the line as well as the turn or dips in the road. Really feels/sounds like it's in the front driver side. On other vehicles over the years I have had similar issues caused either by the strut tower mount or ball joints. So I figured I'd give a once over the drive shaft, steering shaft and joints, ball joints and rock that bearing hub around.

It's under warranty, I could take it in but I don't want to get the... We can't replicate line and miss work because they are backed up. Last visit I had for work it was them holding it for three days and not having time to do the check/fix until the end day 3.
