Hi All,
2021 Ford Ranger Lariat w/ around 37k miles on it.
There is a squeak / creak that I cannot pinpoint the location of and it is driving me insane. It is a higher-pitched sound that happens when the truck rattles from the road. Especially bad going over bumps. It lines up perfectly with the normal road rattle of the truck / bumps / etc. so I am guessing something is rubbing together to cause it.
I had someone drive my truck so I could listen in the back seat and still could not exactly pinpoint it. It sounded like it might be coming from the bottom of one of the rear doors. I even popped the rear seat down and the bottom hatch up to see if it was coming from there while we were driving. Didn't seem to do the trick.
I've read that sometimes the seatbelt buckles can cause noise but I checked them and they seem pretty tightened down. No amount of pushing or shifting them could recreate the sound.
If it means anything, I also have ford-provided running boards and a factory hardcover tonneau. I have also tightened the jack under the seat down very tight.
Again, it only happens when driving from normal road surface rattle and gets worse on rough roads and bumps.
Please Help!!!!!!!!
