Quite a mess up here in Northern California. We have had almost 4" of rain since midnight here at my house. Even worse up in the foothills. First world problems for me......I had to drain my pool to keep it from overflowing. I'm very fortunate. Other areas have had mudslides (from all the fires) and flooding. I absolutely LOVE Cali. but this year has been rough. Thoughts and prayers to all affected by this latest challenge.

The rain might affect you locally but as a state the more rain the better because we are in a drought.

I let mine get low the last couple of months, it's full now, 3" here so far. If mine get's too full it just runs out the skimmer box off the slab and into the side yard.

The cats hate going out in this to relieve themselves, funny watching them use the cat door 3 or 4 times before they decide they can't hold it anymore and HAVE to go out in the rain.

For me here in Ventura the rain has been a welcome change. The orchards will look Seattle-green, the hills will be a little less brown, and the dust will be tamped down for a while. On the downside, I am going to have to do some weed control after the rains. Hopefully we do not have any mudslides as a result.

I was ready for my commute down 680 to be a total mess this morning, but it wasn't too bad at all. Nice opportunity to get more familiar with my (still new) truck...

We ended up right at 5". I was proactive and had cleaned the rain-gutters the day before. During the storm it almost looked like a firehose coming out the spout. Hope it makes it's way to the reservoirs.

Yep, record from 1880 fell, 5.7" in 24 hours, I am in the foothills and we had a bit more, but at least we didn't get the high winds.
