Given a choice, would you opt for Bilstein's B6 or Rancho's adjustable RS9000 for your Ranger?

Like some here, I find the OEM FX rear shocks inadequate. Not bad for smooth highway driving, "not right" for anything else.

I've installed a set of RS9000's on my lowered Ranger, looking to "fix" the wife's FX4.

No complaints with RS9000's, but the Bilsteins are surely tempting!!

I'd go Bilstein personally as I don't like how Rancho products i've used in the past start to develop lots of surface rust within a few months of installing. My buddy has some bilstein's on an old durango that still look in good shape after 10 years

I would go with bilstiens on this. I remember them on my frontier and they were great. For Rancho they are made by Monroe and I have noticed even for being a soft offroad shock they dont have the greatest of quality.

Just my personal I put on this.

I "fixed" my FX4 with a set of Fox's. I'm sure just about anything you do to it will be an improvement. The difference is nothing short of amazing.

I have bilstein on all 4 corners and love the ride now!

The only way I get rid of them is if I go to 3.5" lift but I am happy with the bilstein ride quality and price you can't go wrong.

What p/n RS9000 fit our Ranger? According to their website they don't make one for it.
That may be the bias in the poll. Adjustable shocks are definitely my preference if available.

These Bilsteins are not adjustable, right?

The ranchos are adjustable. I would go adjustable. I had a set of 9k on my wrangler, they are a good entry level adjustable shock. They have a cheap plastic adjuster but they work.

Bilstein 5100 are adjustable. 2.5 in the front and rear can handle 1" of lift block or spring pack

I believe what he meant was the dampening. With that said the bilstiens are not adjustable. The Ranchos are but I have also heard that the adjustment knobs like to break off in salty conditions depending on state.

Bilstein 5100's all the way. I love mine on the front and rear. I may adjust the front up to the top as they are in the middle now.

No "official" fitment but the RS999333 only need 12mm x 16mm x 40mm aluminum fubes to mount the 16mm eyelets to the 12mm mounting bolts.

Thr RS999344 is also a workable option.

I installd a shorter set of 9000's is my lowered Ranger, gonna try a pair of Bilstein 24021289's under the FX4.

Well dag nabbit!! The 24021289's are a few inches too short for the FX4. I'd crossed them using the 24" Rancho's but missed the boat.

Gonna order set of the Rancho's.
