BIGGEST REGISTRATION FEE EVER!!!

When my Ranger arrives later this year, I anticipate $700 for my first year registration.

Now you're thinking, $700!?!?!?!?! Key word though is first year registration, and that's because in Colorado, your plate fees and first year reg aren't included in the vehicle purchase. You pay that to the individual counties and that is typically 90 days later. I also anticipate this being somewhat cheaper as I will have a plate credit from my current vehicle on trade-in (though that amount remains to be seen). This is why on my first year of reg on my Yamaha MT09, it was $250.

After this, I anticipate probably $250 a year for annual registration on the ranger and about $50 - $75 for the MT09(fingers crossed).

That's about as common as unicorns and honest politicians here in Hawaii...lol

Granted, I am assessed a yearly fee of $45 for vanity plates, but is anyone else's anywhere near $477 ?

I do believe that Hawaii's drivers pay the most to register their vehicles in the nation, or pretty darn close to it!

That's about what I was expecting. Only thing I was able to base that off of was my buddy and his 40K Subaru STI a couple years ago. And it gets worse the closer to Boulder you go

So my registration tags in Michigan were up in March... They were 250$, that's nutty.

that is cheap. Three years later, I still pay over $400.00 for my Ranger alone, and that does not include the wife's vehicle.

I stand corrected, it’s 649.00, Arrgghh, 80.00 weight fee. I have to go to DMV and sign an exception sheet to waive the fee because I have handicap plates… oh hell no they won’t do it automatically… All pickup trucks here are considered commercial so therefore weight fees.. only exception is handicap..

Wisconsin plates for light trucks 6000lb GVW & under is $100/yr, $106 for 8000lbGVW. "FARM" plates are $45 every two years, but cannot be used for non-farm occupations or for commuting two and from work.
Add $15 for personalized plates. SUVs are legally trucks here, but:
"If seating capacity of the sport utility vehicle or van is greater than 50% of the total space available, you may license it with automobile registration. ($85/yr) If cargo space comprises more than 50% of available floor space, you must register it as a truck at the appropriate gross weight."

I definitely call BS on this, thats not even close to accurate for NY. (which is understandable because it goes by county) Im at about $14k a year for my house and I'd consider that faily cheap for my area.

We had a Lake House for about 40 years in WI (Oconomowoc). We had a neighbor who's tax bill was $65k year. That's what happens when you tear down a cottage and build a castle.
