Looks like all you "youngsters" weren't around for the gas crunch in the early 70's.....gas doubled in price overnight, and hours long lines formed at stations where there was a 10 gallon limit.
I was lucky, being a deputy...we had stations that we could get as much as we needed.
This was when everyone who owned a high performance car that needed premium, was dumping them and taking pennies on the dollar for them.
Now, gas, though plentiful, goes up in price and everyone has a snit fit.
