@OFC Ranger passed on some nice Bushwacker fender flares, and I will modify them to fit around the Safari snorkel and ARB bumper on my Ranger. My intention is to use a plastic putty to smooth out the seams where I make the modifications, scuff all of the flares, and then shoot them in spray-can truck bed liner. I'm leaning toward Raptor Liner right now.

Any suggestions for a good spray on truck bed liner and prep before application? Would two cans be enough for four fender flares?

99% sure 1 can of raptor liner should be good. did a jeep hard top with 2 cans and that did 3 or 4 coats. there is a slight learning curve to get the finish to look even though

I used Herculiner on my bed and that was easy as pie and it has stood up to some abuse. it's also easier to touch up than raptor liner but the finish is different texture.

I also used Rust-o-leum rattle can bed liner on a homemade wireless bluetooth speaker and that turned out ok. I haven't abused it so I can't say anything about how that performs

either way you go scuff the living daylights out of the surface(palm sander and 80 grit works great) then an acetone cleanup to get good adhesion

How do I flag this for Mods? It was moved to bed stuff, but it's about applying finishes, and I was hoping to have it where people would see it and be able to help me out with advice.

I think the best method would be to use the @ and tag a mod like this @RedlandRanger - please see @Glocker concerns above.

Using the @ gives the user a notification.
About the only place I could see it being included would be in exterior mods, but I don't know if that would get it any better visibility.....

Let me know - I'm happy to move it, although it doesn't seem out of place here.

I have used spray can Raptor liner for my sliders and my rear seat delete, while expensive, it's the absolute best. 2 cans will be good, I would not try with only 1.

I'm leaning towards Raptor Liner. The big questions though are:
Adhesion Premoter?
and
2K

or

1K
https://www.amazon.com/Raptor-UP487...ix=raptor+liner+spray,digital-text,119&sr=1-5

I can get the 1k locally for $19.99 a can...

I did not use their adhesion promoter, but I used a primer. Basically the same thing. Absolutely get 2k. It’s a more durable material and fender flares are going to see a good bit of rocks and small road debris.
