My brother just sent me an awesome text on his way home from hiking in the GSMNP.

Said he was coming around an s turn in the trail and ran up on the 3 cute cubs and momma staring at him from about 20 feet. He said she gave him a couple growls and a couple foot stomps. Fortunately she let him back off without kicking his ass . Crapping his pants was a small price to pay for the great pic after she let him live

Now that, is a pic! (But that looks more like 6 or 7 feet. Believe me, I just climbed about 20 feet for deer hunting today.)

I cropped it a little, but he was within 15 yards when he took that pic after backing up.

That's awfully close! Glad momma let him go.

I thought you meant 20' up in the tree. Yeah, that's close!

I stopped for this little deer on my way out from the Red River heading to FM 273.

Fisrt time that I have got to stop and take a picture of one while on the road. I was afraid that it would run into the woods before I got it in focus lol. Thank God that it didn't run. That was a good feeling to be able to get the picture. Win!
