One of the photo's makes it seem like a plug and play, does anyone know if that's true? And what do you tap into

Agreed.
If I'm not mistaken Jack has RTR wheels already. The RTR grill and fender vents seem like no brainer at this point. If they're available.
I believe you tap a turn signal line and a running light (or headlight) line. One of the photo's makes it seem like a plug and play, does anyone know if that's true? And what do you tap into
Good catch...now I can't unsee it lol...it looks like an angry eye with FAT brow...
RTR does a better job with lighted "bracket" grill design...

So, Ford made a cool, blacked-out Raptor Grille and folks knocked it off for a couple hundred bucks, then RTR pretty much kinda/sorta knocked off the look and feel of the Raptor version but added lights and kept the price high, then other folks knocked off the RTR version for a couple hundred bucks. Man, everyone’s making money here except Jack.$600 vs $200.
Maybe down the road, but at that price point I want to give them a try and see if I can make an amber only DRL function on it.

It’s not for me (said the guy with the black, on black, on black, on black truck - I think?) but I’m sure it will look really sharp on the right truck - white or cactus grey with a black appearance package and/or a crap-ton of black accessories, maybe some bold black vinyl graphics - yeah, like the OFC Ranger. ?
Hmmmm, I think I see hood graphics in your future.I may or may not be receiving 4 additional rolls of matte black vinyl and 50 meters of knifeless tape tomorrow.

I don't see any Raptor Grill in the RTR grill at all. The only similarity is the the black plastic.
Hey Doug - you’re right and that’s just what I mean by the “kinda/sorta” reference - they captured the “look and feel” of the original blacked out look without being copycats. They stayed far enough away from the Raptor design to make it their own but I can’t help but think they were inspired by the popularity of Ford’s Raptor grilles. And really, who doesn’t want to make a bunch of money selling cheap black plastic accessories?I don't see any Raptor Grill in the RTR grill at all. The only similarity is the the black plastic.
I think for manufacturers black plastic mostly works. Good for most trim packages and a blank slate for those who wish to color match.Hey Doug - you’re right and that’s just what I mean by the “kinda/sorta” reference - they captured the “look and feel” of the original blacked out look without being copycats. Hell, like so many others, I took the bait and got reeled in by the black plastic knock off. ?
Honeycomb would look much better. If the fitment is good and I can get the lights to do what I want then I'll probably spend a little bit extra and go buy a sheet of honeycomb grill cuz people are right those little square cutouts just look a little bit odd
I’ve seen some things on here guys have painted Magnetic and it looks great. I think @Fawnbuster did his grille magnetic - I’m colour blind, so not sure. However, a custom Magnetic appearance package would be impressive- not just on a Magnetic Ranger but on many of them!I think for manufacturers black plastic mostly works. Like Jack, I'm not the biggest fan of the quad color scheme. White, Magnetic, silver, and black.
But while Jack is obviously embracing the black, I'm trying to embrace the Magnetic and eliminate the silver.
Currently I'm thinking customcargrills.com insert, with my shell filled and repainted Magnetic along with RTR vents painted Magnetic. I like the RTR grill too, but not sure about the lights and it would need to be painted.

Yes sir Duke, I painted my grill and flares magnetic, 3d letter inserts for the tailgate also magnetic. I painted the ford letters in the grill.in Saber to match the truck. Had some magnetic leftover so I painted my wheel centers also.I’ve seen some things on here guys have painted Magnetic and it looks great. Your basically talking about a SPORT appearance package. Magnetic bumpers, grille surround, wheel moldings and wheels. Mine is on "Lightning Blue". Just need to do the fender vents and get rid of the blue ovals.I’ve seen some things on here guys have painted Magnetic and it looks great.
