Theres been lots of discussion as to where to connect the BLK lead of the battery maintainer / trickle charger on vehicles with a BMS installed.

Of all places, CTEK put the diagram on the back cover and I admit I didn't see this until I was cleaning up my desk.

So see the pic below from the CTEK MXS 5.0 which FORD relabels this on their accessory site.

BTW Dave aka @AzScorpion, these were STD EQUIP on MY 22's in GLORIOUS METALLIC CHILI PEPPER RED Rangers :^)

Well, now I'm a bit confused.
THAT doesn't look like chassis ground, to me.
Or, I'm misreading what they're trying to say?
Hopefully, someone here will post to clear this up?

Looks like it is implying to attach with the BMS between charger and battery.

That is not a chassis ground that is putting the clamp before the BMS connection. I hook up my Noco Genius 5 that way too. You can use a chassis ground also.

If you put the negative clamp on the battery post and not before the BMS then the BMS will not know the true state of the battery. There is some answers on this site that say the BMS will learn the state of the battery after a certain amount of time passes that the truck is not being used.
