And you probably didn't "really" need to steer, as you have Lane Assist, right?! That feature cracks me up every time I drive. On a straight road, I'll give the steering wheel a nudge to one side and let the truck bounce back and forth like a bowling ball on a lane with bumpers.
I've never trusted the lane assist that much and probably never will. I keep it turned off most of the time.

I agree, vibrates the wheel to often when I am literally still in the lane. At least that feature stays off when turned off unlike autostop, but thats a whole other conversation.

My experience is it is very inconsistent in knowing where the lanes are - sometimes it is great - sometimes it would vibrate the wheel when I was still firmly in my lane. And other times it wouldn't warn at all when I went over the line. I'm sure some of it has to do with the lane markings, but it just doesn't seem robust enough to trust it at all. The only time I could see myself turning it on is on a long drive to potentially warn me if I was wandering.

I never use it around town only on the highways. It really comes in handy for me in the early mornings (now that it's dark out) or at night, As I've got older my eyes are not what they use to be in the dark and the lane assist really helps in that situation.

I love the lane assist one of the reasons I bought the ranger - It makes me a little better drive when I'm not totally focused

I just finally received my absolute base XL SC. There was a steep end of year discount offered to overseas military, like myself, and the truck ended up being just a hair over 20k delivered. My wife was surprised at what was included and what wasn't. Things like emergency braking and sync, but no cruise control or remote lock, vinyl floor not carpet, etc

I am very happy with it but would have preferred to add the 101a package.

Some items I'm absolutely going address:
Installing remote lock/unlock(have a cheap module sitting in my garage already)
Mud flaps
Level kit

Items of interest:
Aftermarket cruise control
Remote start(curious to know if it would work with aftermarket remote lock)
Bigger wheels

Phil I can always count on you for a smile good sir.

I’ve gotten used to it. My other half, oh the four letter words about lane assist.

I could be a good hubby and tell em where the off switch is but someone doesn’t wanna read the manual so welp I know nothing

The only part that really still gets me is when I’m trying to round out curves and then I have a :curse: moment push the button and then turn it on when done.

I must say though tried to leave it in cruise and let it try and be a Tesla. The dash and alarms however were not amused

I have the same truck. I've already mentioned it a couple of times here, so sorry for those who are getting a repeat, but I've moved to west Africa (I am American), and didn't want something that would attract too much attention. I also didn't want to get something that was so expensive that a dent would break my heart. Ironically it already got a dent by way of the shipping company who transported it for me. I'm sure by the time I gets reimbursed, I will have a couple more from the madhouse that is traffic here. My US spec Ranger fits in well with all the Hiluxes and Nissan Hardbodies, plus it's much more powerful.
Finally, the roads are so bad that the solid frame does a great job, and I don't need cruise control because you never have a stretch of road where you don't have to slow down, or dodge something anyway. Very happy with the choice.

I've thought about aftermarket cruise control, but with it at around $300, and the cost of keyless entry with an alarm...
I mean, the items you get with 101A appears to be a decent deal if you bought all those features later. Not to mention the time or cost to install them.
