We help people sell their Rangers in the easiest way possible.
The EV Tax Credit is Real (We got a plugin hybrid minivan last year). If you've been thinking about making the switch to and EV and cashing in on that tax credit, here is how it works.

There are three broad qualifications for the EV Tax Credit:
1. You must make less than $150,000 per year if you file taxes individually or less than $300,000 married and filing jointly.
2. Your EV car must cost less than $55,000.
3. Your EV truck, van, or SUV must cost less than $80,000.

However, because of some additional requirements written into the law, not all EVs within the price requirements qualify. Luckily, you can find the details on the IRS’s EV Tax Credit webpage (Manufacturers and Models of Qualified Used Clean Vehicles | Internal Revenue Service).

What's new this year is a tax credit for used EV purchases. This credit can equal up to 30% of the vehicle purchase price with a max of $4,000.

For the used credit the income requirements are a little different:
$150,000 if married and filing jointly.
$112,500 for heads of households.
$75,000 for all others.

Here is a list of all qualifying used EVs
(Manufacturers and Models of Qualified Used Clean Vehicles | Internal Revenue Service).
And remember, if you're buying a new car, Carmigo is the best way to sell your old one.

Max of $4k and the vehicle has to cost less than $55k (car) or $80k (truck). I see nothing here worth it.
fair enough, just hoping to help out someone who might be interested in doing so!

Appreciate the info Carmigo.

That being said EV sales need to stand on their own without subsidies. I should pay for my own vehicle and not partially pay for everybody who buys an EV as well.

How are you paying? a tax credit is a reduction in taxes you owe in most cases, for the current year or spread over 2 or more years if you owe less than the credit. You are not being 'given' that money, it just reduces your taxes. There are many tax credits for tax payers, for solar, for energy efficient home repairs or upgrades, this is no different.

A tax credit to one is a tax increase to all. Government has no money, it belongs to us.

You do realize each citizen is in debt $94,000 to the treasury, right? Per taxpayer is around $250,000. If not, please pay attention.

I wouldn't mind an Ford E-Stang but that would be almost twice what I paid for my Ranger. So no way. Bring the prices down so us poor folks can afford them well maybe.

Same. I actually like those and would love to get my wife one but I'm not comfortable with the current prices.

Buying an EV right now is like buying a MY19 Ranger. I waited till MY22 so the bugs were worked out.

Rebuttal from @AzScorpion in 3-2-1 ???
Absolutely.

Just look at all those problematic and buggy bed tie downs, folding headrests, owner's manual covers, hood struts, etc. that Ford has removed to both increase reliability and decrease weight, thereby bettering performance ? ? :sunglasses:
