Anyone use GateKing tailgate linkage?

Since DGM said they weren't really looking at the braces for these tailgates I figured someone else might have been looking at/making their own as was suggested to me here. Found this -

Interesting item but looks like a weight of 200lbs or more would break the ratchet. I say this because each time he lifts and stop the gate bounces. It looks like leverage would break it. Also making the cable location stronger is not the weak point. I think the aluminum tailgate will fold in half first before cables break.

They don't make them for our trucks.....just checked the website.

They did but they don't sell them anymore for some reason. If you put it into search they do come up.

Yes this is interesting but pricey!
Would be nice to know the load rating, but that also has a lot to do with the truck mounting points and tailgate design. First thing I would do after install would be to sit my 220lbs on the edge of the tailgate in the 1st few lower positions. If it breaks, return it! If not - Sweet!
Would be handy for plywood to sit level on top of the wheel wells. The maverick adopted this idea with the 2 position cable mounts to do this.
