People are looking at Broncos https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/2021-ranger-adds-4-new-colors-cactus-gray-carbonized-gray-cyber-orange-velocity-blue.8622/
Over the years on various vehicles, cable "chains" have been good for me. Looking at the inner sidewall clearance of the modern (stock) Rangers--I would not risk it on the front.
Page 164 of the 2019 manual assumes a 4WD version of the drivetrain (and FX4). Does the 2WD Ranger only engage the locking diff between the speeds of 20 & 25 MPH? I was hoping it would work from 0 MPH, for example pulling out a loaded trailer at a boat ramp...
Soft tread compound in freezing temperatures is so nice. The OP was asking about downsizing wheel diameter and I'd say yes--especially from 18"--because there is stuff on the road under the snow you can't see until you thump it.

Thanks to J_D for the tip about Rack-It; I see they have dealers around Puget Sound.
Questions for HenryMac: Is the extension physically connected or just aligned with the main assembly with mending plates? What is the vocabulary word for the u-shaped reinforcement plates?

I want a Maverick Grabber small pickup, with a 302 V8!
More seriously: rumors so far make it to be a unibody, not body-on-frame. Probably enough for my needs, honestly.
Darn, looks like I'll be waiting a long time to replace the truck I have with an electric equivalent.
