Anyone had experience with Eufy home security systems?

I have the Eufy battery-powered video doorbell and it has been an excellent working system with clear image resolution...very pleased with it:

I am thinking about getting one Eufy 2c outdoor camera (and mount on the roof of my 2-story home) to connect with the doorbell. One camera will give all the coverage I need for my environment. If you've had experience with this Eufy system setup, I would appreciate any pros and cons concerning it.

My kids use this brand on their home. I told them to monitor their wired internet connection for odd requests from this system. They’re made in China so who knows what backdoor they could potentially have.

I looked at that before going with SimpliSafe. The Eufy cameras have or had an issue with spying on you pretty easily, and even Android Central says to avoid them them now. When the steel shutter opens on the SimpliSafe cameras, you'll hear it, no matter where you are in the house.

And no kidding, 2 weeks after I bought and installed my setup, someone popped my back door while I was at work and it got them on camera as soon as the door sensor triggered. Once the siren went off, they ran. Cops were there in 3 minutes and I shared the footage with them via SimpliSafe. SimpliSafe also called me within 15 seconds according to timestamps. (I saw the dude running off, live) Cops caught someone who looked like the guy but the shots (that means pictures, people) were taken through a partially-open vertical blind, clear across the house. Dude ultimately got released. Now I have my yard sign up, and stickers on the easily accessible windows. I'm also looking at an outdoor camera to put on my deck. That would have got a very clean shot (again, PICTURE) of his approach. He's lucky I wasn't home because it's off when I'm home. I AM the alarm system when home and the SimpliSafe sensors sound a 2-tone chime whenever a door or window is opened, even when the system is off. That will trigger MY sensor which sounds eerily like a .45, 9mm, mossberg, or AR15 being charged, depending on where I'm at in the house.

My area is starting to get pretty bad. Burglaries, stolen cars, drugs, homeless, etc. If you steal a car in Colorado and get caught, it's probation the first time. It's a very nice risk/reward situation since they only catch 3% of them. It then emboldens them to move on to houses. My doorbell cam (Nest) picks up people looking directly at it most nights now as they shuffle on up the street in search of easier prey.

Edited with the word "picture" because at least one person thinks I was shooting at someone through my sliding glass door...while I was at work. Apparently. I would never shoot my house, and I would never shoot someone until they were IN my house IF I were home. Even then, if it was a kid, I'd probably hold them at gunpoint until the cops got there just to scare his ass, but in the middle of the night they're probably gonna get shot. There are many variables. I'm not some weirdo who just wants to shoot someone. I'm a retired combat vet.

I probably don't need a system to let me know if someone is getting inside but mainly who is outside and what they are doing...have wrought iron bars on the doors and windows and also a fence in front with a locking wrought iron gate. A strong deterrent but still nothing is foolproof.
I know what you mean about crime in your state...our city is one of the highest crime areas in the US. The reason is that drugs are running from the border and our city is a main distribution point creating a lot of gang activity, shootings and all the above that you mention. You have to watch your back every minute if you live here. Criminals go thru the revolving door. Would appreciate the link from Android Central if you have it.

Edit: I got a wired system from Defender Security. They also have non-wifi 2.4ghz systems, for consideration.

Update your Homebase 2 ASAP
Now, here’s the good news. There’s a fix for these issues. Cisco Talos informed Anker of the issues and the company released firmware versions 3.1.8.7 and 3.1.8.7h in April.

The eufySecurity app automatically updates your devices when you first open it so there’s a good chance yours is already protected from these vulnerabilities. To check the firmware version, open the app and go to My Devices > Select Devices > Devices Settings > About Device > System Version.

Anker says that Eufy security updates happen automatically in the “wee hours.” You can manually update the firmware by opening the app and My Devices > Select Devices > Devices Settings > About Device > Check for firmware.

Having been in IT for many years I don't trust wireless cameras, they can be jammed or compromised to easily. I installed a custom security system, and no, we don't have a ton of crime but being a LEO I had death threats from bangers, taught my wife to shoot as well, as she was home alone a lot. Systen is totally configurable as to alerts, saved footage both on home server as well as the cloud, then there is the home alarm system, and if I am home a Glock deterrent. Here is a shot from the monitor.

My Eufy doorbell is 1080 2k and really clear but not as good as yours. Night time shots are distinct and not a problem which is one thing I Iike about this system...but security is another issue.
