I do love the LED lights.

I also love the seats, b&o stereo, and push start. Does XLT have remote start? I love that too.

The refund for LED light removal should have been higher though.

I have the Lariat. No regrets. The LED headlamps and B&O audio is worth the difference. If Ford offered the LED headlamps on the XLT, like they do on the Explorer, also excellent headlamps, then it would be hard to justify the price difference, but since the don't then the Lariat is worth it. My son-in-law has the Ranger XLT with Halogens. Even after upgrading the bulbs to some Vosla+50 halogen bulbs the lighting is still not great by comparison, though it is better than the factory "Long Life" dim bulbs they install.

Forgot about the B&O, better that I dont compare it and find out I have to have it.
That one would be an expensive mod and maybe difficult

I’m very happy with my 2020 XLT 301A FX4 package. It had more comfort than I asked for (power folding mirrors) without the comfort I didn’t want (leather seats, cluster). I would have preferred the LED headlights but I figured I could upgrade later, but I’m actually fine with the halogens.
It sounds like the new Lariats are a hit and miss with LED’s. Speak with the dealership to see if they can guarantee LED headlights?

My2020 has leather, power folding mirrors, no heated seats(not needed in this climate). Cooled seats would be nice though. I am unsure of my package number as it is a 2wd FX4. Yes appearance mall crawler.?? But I like still having a key. When needed I can just open door and reach in and start without pressing brake pedal.
2 wd FX4 ? Wouldn’t that be an FX2? Or is that the mall crawler option.?? ?

I was going to go XLT but my wife talked me into the Lariat FX4. Since she was buying it with her cash it was hard to say no. We sat in both before buying. No regrets and she still hasn’t driven it ? I’ve tried to get her to but nope.

Say Whaaaaat ? LOL

This thread reminds me of overhearing a conversation once where a dude was explaining to his friend why he married the fat girl instead of the hottie he dated in college.
It boiled down to the hottie was more expensive, lol
Somewhere around here someone posted a study which rated the visibility with the Halogen lights on the Ranger to be superior to the LED.
I prefer the halogen lights for more than just the cost difference, but before I would spend $1200 for a replacement headlight, my Ranger would end up something like this...
which worked fine BTW.
Its a coffee can mudflap plastic and a prescription bottle for the turn signal! :giggle:

They have been advertising heated mirrors on 302A for years. That was one of the reasons I went with that package. Much to my surprise, they don't actually have heated mirrors.
Indeed they don't.
I've had a 2019 XLT Sport 302A 2wd and now a 2021 XLT Sport 4wd 302A with tech pkg and no heated mirrors in either one.
Both are way nice trucks otherwise though and I don't at all miss what I might have had in a Lariat pkg.

Indeed!
My wife refuses to drive my truck. Won't even sit in the driver's seat!
I'd probably have to be dying and already bleeding out in the bed of the truck for her to drive it. Otherwise she'd stuff me in the back seat of her Honda and haul me away. ?

So I currently have a 2023 Lariat Tremor with 500A on order. I'm beginning to have second thoughts because of the uncertainty of getting the LED headlights and fog lights. It's pretty much the only reason I ordered the Lariat. And I would hate to have to walk away and start a whole new order. I'm considering dropping my order to an XLT Tremor with 302A. It would save me $1500 which would probably end up being the cost to upgrade to LED headlights after the fact. Not really interested in any of the aftermarket LED headlights. And I would probably go Diode Dynamics for the fogs.

So outside of leather seats, push button start and power folding mirrors, is there anything major I would be losing by dropping to the XLT with the 302A?? I know there are some smaller changes like ambient lighting and body colored exterior bits. But it seems like most everything else standard on the Lariat 500A is included in the XLT 302A

Did any of you regret going with an XLT over a Lariat???
I got the Lariat in 2019 and would do it again in the future. For me, it was all about the sound system and the push-bottom start system with a fob--great for starting the truck from a distance when it is very hot or very cold so that the temperature will be bearable upon entry. Yeah, I like the lights and mirrors, but those are extras that would not drive the decision either way.

I regret not getting the Tremor Pkg on my Lariat if that helps.
I wish they had offered the Tremor back in 2019 when I got the Lariat; that combination is probably what I will get next time, depending on what the Ranger Raptor looks like (when it finally gets here)!

I actually did that already. Unfortunately it is out of their hands. I'm assuming it's all based on what they have available on the line when the build hits that station. If no LED lights are available then they throw in halogens. Guess they found one way to avoid a constraint item.

So I'm a little confused with some of the responses about the Lariat gauges cluster. The XLT has an analog speedo and tach with a digital display in the middle. So do all Lariats have the analog speedo in the middle with the two digital displays on either side??

If you look at the build and price when you move up to the 501A package you get this.

I was assuming that if you didn't get the 501A Lariat package that it would have the two analog gauges with the digital display in the middle like the XLT. If that's not the case what does the instrument cluster look like in the Lariat with just the standard 500A package??
