I love the instrument cluster in the XLT over the Lariat. I was wondering if I'm missing something if I go with the XLT.

Lariat: Leather seats (can't get in XLT)
LED headlights (can't get in XLT)
Different Instrument cluster (rather have on the XLT)
Love the Platinum white (can't get in the XLT)
Love the push button start (can't get in XLT)

How do the 301a vs 501a packages differ?

Everything else you can get in the XLT with various options:

I would want the Tow package, FX4, Sync3 with NAV appearance package.

What else am I missing?

501A package comes with:
  • B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen with HD Radio™ (SuperCrew® only)
  • Rain-Sensing Wipers
  • Windshield Wiper De-Icer
Those are exclusive to the Lariat 501A package.

Yup...forgot those.

Well, it seems that I'll have to live with the Lariat instrument cluster. I really want a few of the things the Lariat offers:
upgraded sound system
Push button start
Platinum white color.

Thanks guys...I knew there were reasons I kept going back to the Lariat.

Also puddle lamps and turn signal indicators in the side mirrors. That's standard on the Lariat.

Edit: Here's the order guide for the Lariat.

LOL I learned something new today. Didn't know my Lariat will have puddle lights.

We had them on our 2004 Explorer - I really liked them. Sounded kind of odd at first but it is nice to have some lighting when you are approaching your vehicle at night, especially in a dark parking lot.

The mirrors on the Lariat are also heated. I'm not sure if you can get that on an XLT or not. I know you can get power mirrors and folding mirrors, but I don't think you can get the turn indicators, heated mirrors, or puddle lights on an XLT.

Not sure how I would survive in FL without heated mirrors /s
Funny you say that cause I feel the same about the heated seats in South Florida. I actually love them. Getting old I guess.

I know some guys that work at the Ranger plant. I'll have to ask them if the Lariat mirrors are plug 'n play (ie. if the XLT has all the necessary wires / etc so swapping is easy)

Can you also ask them what the MY 2020 will have over 2019?

They won't know until they start building test units. That should be awhile since they just launched. Most of the time the carryover years aren't that different to notice on the floor, because some options become standard equipment, and you have to wait for the order guide. That usually comes out when the order bank opens.

I don't know. I'm thinking that they may help to get the dew off the mirrors which happens frequently further south in the winter. I guess I'm too lazy to wipe the mirrors with a towel.

I would think they'll add a few things on XLT & Lariat trims that are standard on the same trims of the F150.
Like; front grille camera, damped tailgate, integrated LED bed lights...etc etc
Those are huge things i wish they had now. I was bummed that my $45,000 Lariat didnt come with or even optioned for them.

However, it's on the first year on sale here.
