Android Auto/Bluetooth oddball behavior

Trying to figure out how to reproduce this, but its pretty inconsistent.

With the phone plugged in, and Android Auto working (Pixel 4A5G, boring google bone stock), sometimes when I call out from the car, there is zero audio, I can't here the person I called, and they cannot hear me. Other times, I make a call, I cannot here it ring, but randomly, the person starts talking (ie, they answer and say hello, then the audio starts working)

Yet other times, someone calls me, I answer, no audio. Yet other times, I answer, I can hear them, but they cannot hear me.

Anyone else experiencing flaky Android Auto performance?

similar. If I make a call, it rings and I can hear the other person and they can hear me. If someone calls me and I answer in android auto, something is occurring where I can see they picked up on the screen, but they cannot hear my voice and I cannot hear their voice.

Sort of. TCL 10 crap phone, ooesn't seem to want to connect to AA in my Ranger or the Cadillac. I think it is a phone issue, not a vehicle issue. Sorry I can't be more help.
