I use the locker in the Vermont winters all the time. Gets me out of all sorts of situations in the hilly terrain. I grew up in Utica (proctor blvd!), and its not quite as hilly as southern Vermont, so I'd imagine that just regular 4WD would be fine in most situations.
I searched for a...
I owned 4 Dakotas.... 01, 05, 10, 08. Each one made it to north of 150K miles. Each one needed some love here and there, but they were all really reliable. I went to the Dakota from a full size GMC, as I wanted something mid size but not too small, and the Dak was unique in that respect...
Precisely what I did. Put a deposit on an F150 Lightning a couple of months ago. I like my 2021 Ranger, but its a lousy pickup truck. Nice car-ish vehicle, but not good as an actual pickup. So presuming I actually get a Lightning delivery next year, I'll trade the almost new Ranger right...
Trying to figure out how to reproduce this, but its pretty inconsistent.
With the phone plugged in, and Android Auto working (Pixel 4A5G, boring google bone stock), sometimes when I call out from the car, there is zero audio, I can't here the person I called, and they cannot hear me. Other...
Most of the factory head units have some kind of load sensing mechanism to the speakers. I'm not entirely sure what they sense on, but I have the exact same problem you describe on our 2016 Cherokee that has a Metra DSP in it. The Metra install kit came with a small resistor that you need to...
I used the Cooper SRXs on my recently traded Dakota, as well as 2 of our kids Jeep Cherokees, and they have been great in the snow for several winters. No complaints at all when using 4WD.
Thanks to everyone! At least I know my Ranger is behaving like other's trucks are.
Some of the service guys at my local Ford dealer are actually enthusiasts and have played with the factory Ranger tune, which just added the 2021 model to its official release.
I'm going to investigate...
About a 6 weeks in to my 2021 Ranger. Bought an XLT FX4, and have mostly been enjoying it....mostly. Have about 4000 miles on it
I've read a ton on this forum and there's lots of knowledge, so figured I'd post some impressions so people can opine on what I can do about some of these things...
I'm definitely struggling with the trans programming. Its designed specifically to upshift aggressively to support fuel consumption. But as the engine lugs like crazy at 1000-1500 rpm, low speed operation is challenging without smashing the throttle to get the truck moving.
I'm going to try...
