GP Factor install kit for the Dickinson heater arrived. From start to finish wiring it took me the better part of 6 hours. Getting the right fitting and hose length was a bit of a pain. I think it's a very clean install and the heater puts out some heat! Props to Rin from OK4WD for making this happen!
I know not many, if anyone else, will purchase this setup, but it is very light, convenient, and clean.

Just wanted to post up my build to give people ideas and for fun.

For reference I've use Tepui RTT for years. I bought my first in 2014 and used it around CO for 14er hikes. I sold most of my stuff while I moved around in the Navy for a few years. When I separated I "upgraded" to a light 18ft travel trailer to travel long distance more. The Tacoma couldn't handle it and I hated to awkwardness of it and not being able to take it on dirt roads. I sold the Tacoma and bought the Ranger and quickly ordered the AluCab canopy camper. I love the versatility of the camper. It's light, warm, well constructed and thought out, and a good price. A well rounded package in my book. I also love the tech, power, and smallness of the Ranger. I can get down any trail I want to with ease.

Ranger Mods,
Eibach front struts and rear shocks

Rear air bags
Stainless steel down pipe

AFe interocoler piping (really junk!)
32in Duratracs
Tons of Forscan mods

National Luna battery box (smart charging and battery isolator all engineered and built as one small unit)

Generic cheap and small Amazon compressor fridge

I have the propane heater Rin from OK4wd has in his Tacoma, but I am waiting on a fit kit for the AluCab. Winter is coming fast though.

Awesome setup!

How is you National Luna portable pack doing? I have one and it won’t charge my second battery all the time. It sounds like it’s bc of the Rangers battery management it won’t continuously provide the around 13.9v continuously the national Luna power pack requires. I’m not an electronics guy at all. Though on another thread in here it sounds like dc to dc backup for the ranger is the way to go? But if yours is charging your backup battery while using all your goodies maybe I just have an issue with mine? Someone mentioned if they keep their headlights on while drivingit for some reason it puts enough voltageout out consistently. Let me know how your National Luna portable backup battery is doing. I hope your enjoying your epic setup! Thanks

Oh wow. Yeah mine has been good. I just spent 4 days in Sedona running my fridge at 1C constant, 12v oven for 4 hours daily, and heater blower all night. No issues. The 100AH battery got down to 40% each night and charged back up to 100% during the day of driving around.
On many occasions I have the truck idling for the ~10 minutes or whatever and I hear the solenoid in the Luna pack click and start charging. One thing I can say is, I disable ASS when I need the battery to charge for obvious reasons.

Even after shutting the truck off, the Luna pack charging light stays solid for a few minutes, until the truck battery drops to a certain voltage, then the solenoid opens again. This indicates to me that the battery voltage is high enough and the alternator output doesn't matter. Can't imagine any differences between truck trims, but I do have a loaded Lariat.

Did some Moab and Sedona camping over the holiday. Took the rig up Fins N Things and Hells Revenge. Rock Solid.
Looking at switching over to a bumper tire carrier over the door. I'd like to get weight off the door, and add location for spare fuel. https://www.expeditiononestore.com/...per-with-Dual-Tire-carrier-System_p_1024.html

Also picked up my new overland build. 2015 GX460 Lux! Can't wait to get the parts in.

How does that hold up in a 40 mph wind storm? Looks like a "flight" would be imminent.

The camper? Fine. With the tent up? Ya it’s noisy but it’s built well. No water ingress and the fabric is thick so very little wind got through. The struts are sturdy and I had no movement of fear it would close on me. However with 10 inches of snow load on our last trip I have been pondering an aluminum rod prop as safety.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like a stout product.

We are just looking at one of these. It's pretty darn cool alright. On suspension upgrades you listed the Eibachs for $750 .. that seems low. I was told that you'd want to upgrade rear leaf srpings, i.e. with Old Man Emu kit. You found that not to be the case?

re: other posters question, how hard would it be to get the shell out to use truck for other purposes?
