Anyone find out what is different about the Tremor Alternator? Maybe Benny can tell us?

They make one, for Toyotas, and it's a roughly $1800 alternator. That'd buy a man a lot of spares.

The Ford EB 2.3l is not used in Australia, and the Bronco isn't being sold there. I seriously don't see an Australian company spending any coin to design anything for the outgoing model of the US Ranger.

At best it would end up like the LRA fuel tank. ;)
We don't need one for the Ranger, the 3.2 Diesel used here has the alternator located right at the top. ( see pic of mine attached) I guess we'll see what happens next year when we get the 3.0 V6 diesel. The 2.3 is only available here as an option on the cheap version of the Mustang.

Perhaps I should have clarified a bit.

Of course I'm aware that the Aus spec Ranger uses different engine configurations, both with higher mounted alternators.

However companies such as PDP in Australia are the only source I can find for sealed, water cooled alternators.

As I said. I DO NOT expect an Australian company to develop a unit for the US spec Ranger.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
HAHA, I wonder if you could put a switch on the 12v exciter circuit for the alternator and de-energize it before entering water, curious if that would help. It would throw a code but you would know what that was, and you could return power to it once the water drained out. Just an off the wall thought I had while on my 3rd beer. ?

no, the issue is usually that the mud that ends up in the alternator is an abrasive, with the results you might expect. and in my experience it's not immediate death; it'll run for a bit before it completely eats itself. (experience from other vehicles, haven't done it on a ranger.) if you drove through a tank of distilled water you'd probably be fine.

Oh no I didn't mean it that way, just that's one we don't need to cater for, because Ford did it right from the factory. There are plenty of others however, like the new 2.0 Bi turbo which could be better.

After reading through I went and looked at my alternator location. Also on the top for my 2.2 diesel.
