Not a big fan of the OEM XLT seats. Has anyone put in anything aftermarket with better bolsters or a harness? looking at maybe putting in some omp seats in the driver or both fronts. something like this in the link with a harness :

I should put 1 of these in my BRZ.
What are you doing with your truck?
I like the OEM seats as we will be using the truck as a travelling vehicle & pull a TT.

I'm in the process of trading-in a BMW X3. If not for the cost, I would keep the seats and transplant them into the Ranger.

with the high seat level I like the fairly flat seat, a bolstered seat would make entry harder IMO.

I'm doing good amount of offroading and dirt roads and just turning in general the flat seats and no bolstering you are sliding around bracing off the steering wheel. Just not great seats nothing against their comfort. Also aftermarket seats look awesome.

Think one of these seats will be on my list of upgrades for the future, still gotta do the king 2.5s and wheels first.

If you are set on aftermarket seats, Corbeau makes a lot of offroad focused seats for 4x4's ect.

Speaking from experience, if you go aftermarket, keep your stock seats so you can put them back in if you ever sell. Aftermarket racing seats like the OMP's linked will most definitely hurt the resale on the truck. Not a lot of people want a truck with small, incredibly bolstered seats. Bit of a different story when you're talking about sports cars. I have ran aftermarket seats in my track cars but I would never do that to my truck personally.

Take a look at the CG-Lock. It might serve your purpose

https://corbeau.com/baja-xp/ these do look like they fit the bill nicely and don't break the bank. Obviously will swap back seats whenever I sell down the road.

Some folks do some serious off-roading and need the seats to do it right. Here’s a picture of Jake on a recent outing...

No hate here - just friendly props to folks that play hard enough to need that kind of setup. You’ll find some some casual, light-hearted banter on the forum.

Wouldn't say I'm doing Baja but I guess I drive aggressive and then again Alaska trails aren't a joke.

I see they’re Hans device compatible - I think I need one just for the potholes here in Toronto! Well, that and the speed bumps. Alaska trails? Now, that’s a place we don’t hear much about. We get all the usual tales about Moab, CO, CA, AZ, etc. Got any pics?

I had a set of the smittybilt contour sports in black denim in my Toyota four wheeler. No where near as aggressive & bolstered or even harness compatible as some of the seats suggested here. I definitely wouldn't consider anything more substantial than those in a daily driver. They were plenty for BC/Alberta trails in a 40 year old leaf sprung rolling safety hazard.
