adhesive for quadlock phone mount

Has anybody else had an issue getting a phone mount to adhere to the rangers cheap plastic dash?
I have used Quad lock in 2 other vehicles highly recommend it .
I can not get the mount to adhere to Fords dash.
The quad lock mount comes with a 3m adhesive tape ( peel & Stick).
I am guessing it is b/c the ford ranger dash is a cheap low energy plastic? Does anybody have an adhesive tape that they would recommend?

I was really hoping the Gorilla tape would work. It won't even stick Fords POS Plastic ha ha

Have you cleaned good with alcohol before using? Any plastic protectant products (oil based) been used previously?

yes cleaned with alcohol and no oily products

Designed for 3M very high bond double-backed tape.

Without the pen prep, 3M VHB lasted just over a year holding my European fire extinguishers onto the plastic at the base of the seat. That's including temps around -5 F.

And that had very little surface area.

I have the pens but have yet to reapply the brackets.

The Gorilla tape is directionally biased. You have to install in vertically, not horizontal.
