Wouldn't some blame go to the dealer? Some are better than others based on what I read here.
Yes, but I went to 3 different dealers and got the same runaround.

I'm guessing that Ford set forth some guidelines that give the dealer an easy out.

So after putting a Customer Care ticket into Ford due to the unusual break of the tensioner, it seems Ford could care less. If you are a Ford fan that will own a Ford come Hell or High water, then congrats and this is posting is not for you, but if you are a Ford owner that is tired of supporting Ford only to get screwed over and over on purchasing Fords that have issue after issue, then this is for you. Yes, I KNOW that every manufacturer has issues with their autos, the difference is how they address those issues. Ford has a history and pattern on poor quality parts or even designs that they never really address and it seems that the WEAK belt tensioner bracket is another one of those issues. This will be my last Ford, not that Ford gives a crap, but they have lost a customer that has owned a ford since my first car 40 years ago.

I was a long time GM fan and it's the same bs, they are worse imo. They will rarely ever admit fault.

Years ago I worked for a rental car company. GM was the worst to deal with when trying to get something repaired.

Ford and Dodge were pretty similar.

Honda was the easiest and it's why my wife drives honda. Less headache for me. I'm not saying honda never breaks down or has issues. Just that they were the easiest to deal with.
