I recently purchased a 2020 Ranger with only 3000 miles on it and yesterday discovered dried water trails coming down from both sides of my rear view mirror. $150 to reseal and $478 if windshield breaks plus another $200 plus at the dealership to recalibrate the side collision camera. Anyone else had issues ? Thinking of just going with the $50 fix which is just shooting a bead of sealant in the area.

Welcome and congratulations on buying your Ranger!

What I would do is make sure you have glass coverage on it and wait for the windshield to break and let them fix and replace it. These windshields seem like they're a magnet for rocks and I had 2 break on my '19 Ranger.

You could try sealing it with silicone and seeing if that would work as a temporary band-aid?

Also, if you just bought it wouldn't there be at least a 30 day warranty from the dealer on it? I haven't bought a used vehicle in over 30 years but do remember you'd at least get something.

Nice looking Ranger. I would think there is a warranty on this. Either way I hope you get it resolved. Welcome.

A 2020 Ranger with only 3,000 miles? Not directed at you - but I wonder why someone would buy a new Ranger and just let it go unused?

Too bad the windshield recall was for 2022 model.

Nice SuperCab Ranger! Those are rare. Welcome to the forum.

I have a 2020 that is garaged and has not seen a lot of rain out here in the SW desert. Subquark (David) lives in your neck of woods, maybe he can provide more guidance about rain intrusion.

I have only 33k on my vehicle and thought those miles were low compare to a lot of the other Ranger owners.

Only 3K miles? That's about 60 miles a month. Hmm, one dump run and trip to church each weekend?

As Murphy asked, why buy a new truck if you aren't going to use it? Are you the second owner?

If you bought it from a dealer, you should go to them ASAP.

I don't have any issues with my 2019. I did replace the windshield on my 1997. Twice. Other than that, I had to replace the windshield on my 1984 (small) LTD wagon. That one leaked. So, what I'm thinking is your windshield maybe a replacement unit. And was not done correctly. Or is a bad unit. I don't know if they did it with the 2020's. But my 2019 has Ranger at the bottom of the windshield.
