Hey guys. I have a 2019 FX4 Ranger Lariat with 47k that I have modified. Ill just talk about what I did to the rear since that's where my issue is. I installed ICON 2.0 reservoir shocks and put in a Eibach 1" block under the leaf springs years ago. Im running stock 18x8 rims with 1" spacers (yes everything is tight and aligned) on Cooper Rugged Ridge 255/70's. Recently I have noticed a loud rattle that seems to come from the driver side tire/suspension area. It only does this when driving over sharp bumps, washboards, etc then stops. This doesn't happen rock crawling, during low speed suspension travel or even high speed dips in the street. I have completely pulled everything off the vehicle. I removed the spare and even the spare rubber mounts and taped up the chain. I zip tied anything loose and tightened every suspension component (shock mounts etc). I have an RCI Rack with an IKamper 2.0 and high lift jack (yes I took off the jack) that stays on all season.

This is driving me crazy. Any ideas what this could be? I have not taken it in anywhere yet as I do all the work myself usually. I was thinking maybe the leaf springs are shot since I am pretty hard off road? I was thinking about ordering the OME 1.7 spring kit. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like leaf spring slap. Spring things makes a kit to solve the problem and is very simple to indtall.

This sounds like the leaf spring front eye has broken. I know because it happened to me last year and I know the sound you are describing. Blocks underneath the leaf spring only exacerbates the ovaling of the front eye. It’s difficult to see that it has been broken because oftentimes the fracture is hidden behind the bushing in the well. Lifting the rear end of the truck off the ground should expose the fracture.

Great thank you. Its 104 out so Ill have to wait to go work in the garage lol. I think Im gonna go ahead and order the springs anyways. With how I am off road and the weight I carry I probably should have done that already.

Oh the damper was one of the first things lol. I briefly looked this morning at the leaf mounts and didnt see anything but its on the ground. OME 1.7 kit looks like what i may do with the weight i carry. Im assuming its an easy install? Ive done all the suspension including front ICON UCA and coilovers myself. I love my truck and its paid off with 47k so Im definitely gonna fix it, its just frustrating to not know.
When I swapped out my rear leaf springs, it took a little over 2.5 hours and that was with me taking my time, taking pictures to document, and getting interrupted several times.

I Overland for three months of the year, with my Smart cap, RTT, 270 awning, fridge, tools, water, propane, kitchen pantries and all the stuff needed, for multimonth trips! And I'm mostly on FSR roads.
Last year I noticed the rear was squatted a bit, of course, only the one leaf holding it up. So, I upgraded the rear with OME/ARB 4 plus one leaf packs. Also I went with the Bilstein shocks as well.
The OME springs give you an extra 600lb load rating. And it's a good thing I did upgrade! Stopped on a scale couple days ago, and I was 2850kg. With 1310 on the front and 1540 on the rear! The GVWR on the door sticker is 2744!!
The new leaf springs and shocks, make it all good now. I should mention that I have a 3" level on the front, so the ass end is still up about 1/2 to 1" taller!
My truck is 2020, Lariat FX4 82,000Km, and otherwise, basically stock!
Hope this info might help!

It does. Thank you. It easy to start putting all this gear on and forget its heavy. I also have RCI skid plates for fuel tank plus Shrockworks sliders. I should probably hit a scale soon lol.
