I have 2 -2019 Rangers LARIAT FX4 and LARIAT 2wd Sport. I replaced my FX4 suspension with Ford Fox Racing system and now have the OEM FX4 system sitting around. Looking to install the OEM FX4 coilovers and rears on my Lariat Sport 2wd. The ride on the Sport is a bit harsh with OEM 2wd system. Thoughts on doing this swap? OEM FX4 system only has 1k miles on them.

Buy some Bilsteins if you really want to swap the OEM shocks. Not much to be gained by adding the FX4 shocks.

Just saving money since the FX4s are virtually new. Also, anyone know if they are taller so as to lift the front a bit without adding a spacer. Planning on adding Michelin LTX Trail M&S tires soon. Taller than stock Hankook tires. Put these Michelins on my FX4, son loves then.

I wouldn't bother. The Factory Shocks and Struts for FX4 and non FX4 are not that great to be honest.

No clue, I called out Bilstein because they would be cheaper than other aftermarket options and people seem to like them better than the OE shocks.

The Bilsteins are a big improvement over the FX4 stuff.

For an instant and noticeable improvement, do just the rears. 30 minutes in your driveway.

A lifetime warranty is nice too.

The Eibachs are also highly rated but I have no direct experience with them.

I considered the Fox shocks briefly, but pulling them and rebuilding them every 50k or so and costing near $100 per shock, turned me off of that idea. I don't push this truck hard enough to warrant that expense for extra performance I will never use.

The rears could be doable. Pulling the fronts is a bummer.

I did not pay attention to the service requirements when I bought the Fox shocks and I am SO glad I kept the OE shocks to swap on for the rebuild time.

It's annoying that I'm locked in on essentially $400-$500 every 1-2 years, but I guess thats the price of the hobby. Other shocks would probably just go bad and get replaced under the same usage. I suppose a serviceable shock is less wasteful than completely replacing a non-serviceable one so there's that.

The mountain bikes are even worse with drivetrain wear and suspension rebuilds, but at least I can do all of that myself.

I really need to find some cheaper thrills.

Thanks, I'm going to do that. Change just the rear. It's the rear that's so bouncy, not so much the front

Thanks for the comments, but the OEM 2wd Coilovers and rear shocks ride rough. Since I have the FX4s and I want to save money for now, just gonna use what I have. Stock tires (Hankooks) also ride rough as I saw on my other Ranger before I replaced with Michelin Trail LTX M&S. Before I replaced the OEM FX4s with the Ford Fox setup, it was pretty smooth on the street. Thanks for the comments.
