Wondering if someone might know the reason the Lariat's have 18's when all the other trims are 17? At least I think all Lariat's are 18's. Less sidewall flex was what they were aiming for perhaps?
My 2019 Lariat has 18-inch wheels, but only because I added the Black Appearance Package. And, as the package name says, it is all about "appearance."

My FX4 has the 18's. I'm on the fence on keeping the 18's or dropping down to the 17's. IMO, the main reasons to keep the 18's are: (1) the shorter sidewall height will give better on-road handling; and (2) if you are pulling a large trailer, the 18's with the shorter sidewall height will have less sidewall flex which will make them a better choice for towing.

Makes sense. I like your white Ranger look. I couldn't find a white one nearby. I'm so impressed with how the Ranger drives on pavement. Haven't been offroad yet. Mushy brakes are my only real complaint at this time.
There is a procedure in Forscan that firms up the brake pedal.
All you have to do is enable the procedure, and sit back while it does it's thing.
Be prepared for a lot of clicking and whirring noises though.

My '19 came with 18 inch black rims, so that's what I'm running.

17"s better for off roading as permit more tire, more squish on bumps

2021 xl stx 4x4 came with factory 18inch. Truck has 2 different stx packages don't remember exact names but the one was part of why it had 18inch

21' model year STX Special Edition got 18 inch wheels also first and only year. I believe that you may still get the 18' black with the blackout package.

I will admit I get a lot of sidewall flex with my265/75r16 p metric standard load tire.
I wonder if a load range E would be more stable.
I run 235/85r16 load range E winter tires and don’t think the ride is too harsh.

I do not know for sure the why and wherefores of which Lariats get 17" or 18". I think is you get certain packages you get a designated size. My 2019 Lariat FX4 with sport package, came with 17"... I refused to take it unless it had 18s... they acquiesced and got me 18".
