$189 diagnostic charge for warranty issue??

So it did turn out to be a warranty issue & no charge. They just didn’t inform me when I made the appointment.
Yeah - that's pretty common. It's become pretty much a boilerplate warning.

Many times, it's not a warranty issue, and the mechanic needs to be paid for the diag time. And I've seen customers try to walk. Nope! "You chose to jump your new F150 Dukes of Hazard style, so replacing your exhaust and suspension isn't a warranty problem. Now pay the mechanic for the time it took to figure out what it's going to take to un-f--- your truck!" ?

They just told me $145. Diagnostic fee on mine IF it turned out it's was a non warranty issue...
