Happy new engine cover day! We’re finally here! Mamma Ford has bestowed us with new engine covers straight from her teet for sky high jacked up prices! Comes with a new letter (-C) and a new price tag but don’t worry it’s “discounted”.

*Also, I’ve seen it mentioned that the TSB for getting a free one has been been pulled so don’t go pouring water on your plugs outside the dealership yet.

or one can buy the "old" version for less than $70 here: https://www.midtenntruckparts.com/p...T/75174216/L1MZ6A949A.html?partner=googlebase

Service mgr must open hood to visually verify the cover is not there.
Then he must verify that the vehicle in question deserves a cover.
Then he assigns a Master Tech to the repair, whom then comes at the beckoned call or the mgr to pick said vehicle up from service desk area.
The Master Tech then gets his "team" together for the upcoming repair and assign the tasks to be performed.
One tech to start one attachment part.
Another tech to start the second attachment part.
A third tech to snug and tighten them down.
A forth tech to check the torque on the attachment parts.
Fifth tech to place and center the cover.
Sixth tech to place nut on first attachment part.
Seventh tech to place nut on second attachment point.
Eighth tech to snug and tighten the nuts.
Ninth tech to check the torque on the two nuts.
Tenth tech to check that proper paper work trail was completed by tech's 1 thru 9.
A check by the quality control mgr to make sure all work was done to Ford standards.
A test drive to check that no additional noise/rattles/bangs are present from the repairs.
Hopefully none found but if there are, steps one thru ten must be repeated.
If finished on a Friday afternoon, customer will be notified to pick up vehicle the following Monday.

And, that's why it takes a day......
You forgot the tech who comes around after the tech checked torque spec and gives each bolt a good ugga ugga with the impact gun "just to be sure its snug"

Friday yet?

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
I have an appt. to have a new cover installed next week. Already had a plug replaced from water damage. It a warrantee. Can’t believe they “need” the truck for the day.
And let me guess... the dealer replaced "one" plug.

 hate such penny pinching stupidity.

Can one of you please offer me a link to the beginnings of this apparent debacle? Then I can figure out if I need to join the parts chase for my 21 Lariat. Thanks in advance.

I thought about 3d printing this cup holder that looks like a 10mm socket, but I'd probably lose it, along with my beer.
