Did anybody else get a bottom of the barrel base model like me? I love the simplicity of this truck and actually really like the stereo and gauge displays. I wouldn’t mind having cruise control but I wouldn’t use it much anyway

There is no bottom of the barrel if it's a Ranger. It's your baby, if you're happy I am happy.

I think that is one of the cool things about the Ranger - even the most stripped models come with a whole lot of cool features - no crappy little engines or transmissions, etc.

To each his own - I love my Lariat and all its doodads, but I can appreciate why some like the simpler XL.

bottom of barrel??? looks like 4x4 and trailer tow was added at least.

any other options added?

nice truck btw.
Thanks man appreciate it

I guess that’s about the only option it has is 4x4. Put a Curt hitch on and wired the brake controller, built the chase rack, added the light bar and rear lights. New wheels stock tires. That’s about it

Ya agreed, will be interesting to see if they do offer different engine/tranny options in the future

The best "value" are the XLs Simply because buying the lower trimmed model still has the upper trim drivetrain. Me...I like all the options. But the XL is far better than Toyotas 4 banger.

I got the "base" but added the tow package and the 101A package to get the cruse control and remote locking tailgate (with the key thing). I am very happy with my Ranger. Tow a cargo trailer long distances with an average trailer weight of 5,000 pounds.

You're absolutely right. It's $1,135 to add the 101A package which includes Cruise Control, Perimeter Anti-Theft Alarm, Power Glass Sideview Mirrors, and Remote Key Fob with Tailgate Lock. If they offered cruise control by itself for lets say $500 I would do that, but $1,135 is a lot if all you care about is the CC.

Means you have more $ for upgrades to the truck and a few new MTB’s in the back

Agree completely. That's why I got my XL with the STX package & few other DO's without all the DAD's. Simple but enough. One thing I like is having the tachometer.

That was the model I wanted to buy, but no one had one in stock in 4 states at the time. I was going to order out of Dalhart Texas, but ended up finding a used one in Albuquerque for a few $ more than the "stripped model" I was going to buy (cruise, 4x4 & tow). The dealer said not to worry about backing out (quoted 8-12 weeks to get what I wanted built) on an order, he said it would sell the day it hit the lot!
