I found this part hanging by a nylon wire tie just over the brake pedal. Anyone recognize what it is?
White plastic about 2-1/2" wide; looks like it clips to something.

No, the hood release is on the left and works fine. This thing is just hanging there by a nylon tie. I'll try to get a better picture today. Or better yet, I'll run up to the dealer and look at another truck. Will report back. Thanks.

I looked under my dash briefly with flash light and didn't see anything like that. If you're lucky, it's just a manufacturing aid that was left behind at the plant.

DAMN! I didn't get one! I feel gipped!
I agree it looks like an assembly jig that got left and forgotten... :)

Well maybe you can have mine! I sent a couple of pictures to the local dealership service dept. Waiting to hear back.

The Ford service guy looked at a new truck and couldn't locate anything like it. I removed it to take to them for identification tomorrow and will insist they figure out what it is to be sure I don't need it. The end of the nylon tie was pinched in the lower steering column bracket. I removed it by loosening the one side and it slipped right out. I'm thinking it was an assembly jig and the tie got pinched so the factory drone just left it hanging.

Ask them if they want to buy it back for $125.... or if they prefer to trade for a textured hood protector? :)

Well, aren't you the lucky one?
Your post brings to mind of the 76 or 77 Mercury Monarch I prepped for delivery back in the day, the car checked out OK with 1 small problem.
The entire dashboard was a totally different color from the rest of the interior, I've forgotten exactly what they were.
But guess what was in the trunk? you guessed it, the proper color dash, base, pad, glovebox, cluster and all.

No clue. This part does not exist on my 2020. I would go along with a previous comment; it probably is a tool used in assembly of the vehicle.

I believe, after extensive research which I can't tell you about,it is an experimental fitting for a future optional miniature quantum flux capacitor. For real....:sunglasses::thumbsup:

Joy!,Joy!
Question is, will this device be Alexa, Apple CarPlay or AndroidAuto enabled?
Will I then no longer need the 50mm machine gun mounted on the roof of my CR-V?
