Just my 2 cents as an X Ford Service Manager. I smell a rat. The only time I ever refused to work on a vehicle was when the customer threatened the Service Adviser ('fix my truck NOW or I'll kick your ass".) in a crowded service area. I made arrangements for another dealer to look at the truck and explained the situation. He used the same tactic with them and they ran him off. Last I heard, he was dealing directly with Ford to resolve. I have worked on several vehicles that other dealers have bailed on due to customer issues with satisfactory outcomes. Just a side note on Lemon Laws. They are different by State and the amount of $ compensation in Texas is determined by the State, based on their Fair Market Value (read very low). Not how much you paid, how much you owe, or how much it would cost to replace it. Also once a Lemon Law Claim is filed, the dealer is out and is no longer allowed to work on it. A "I'll file a LL claim", is not much of a threat and is a Very Last resort in my opinion. ANYTHING can be fixed or resolved IF there is the desire to on both parties. Just MY opinion........
If someone can fix it that would be great, I just can't afford to miss any more Dr appts or work (and I can only work 1-2 days a week so missing a day sucks). I'm not sure why they weren't doing more to find out what is going on. I'm sure I looked angry, but they can see by looking at my license plates and physically seeing me that I'm disabled and clearly in severe pain whenever I move. I know they were upset that I would pull into their service lane without an appt and asked if they could keep it for awhile to check it out and ask if there was a loaner available. There was an issue with me having a loaner due to how far away I live from the dealership. I don't recall ever raising my voice, but if I did I certainly take responsibility for doing so. When I spoke to the general manager on the phone is the only time I remember getting really upset. I was in the truck, using Bluetooth, trying to explain the issues that were happening when we were talking. He kept cutting me off and would yell at me to speak up cause he couldn't hear me, (probably because I was on the highway and the driver's door isn't fit correctly causing the top of the door to pulsate which creates a constant thumping sound. Because of that the weather seal doesn't sit tight, the passenger rear door weather seal is installed wrong in one spot as well, causing a gap. Its hard to have a conversation with a passenger because of the doors so I'm sure he wasn't able to hear me very well on the phone). I kept getting louder,s til I was pretty much screaming, so he could hear me. That's when he started in with the name calling and insults, then told me I'm not allowed to come back there. I did snap back and swore a couple of times and after being told a second time to never come back there I yelled "what the f* is your problem, f***," and then I hung up to prevent myself from saying anything worse, or from getting so worked up that I'd have another stroke. I tried calling back the next day and was immediately hung up on, tried emailing but got a mailer deamon message so they obviously blocked my emails. I'm not making any excuses, if I somehow offended the general manager or someone else there badly enough for them to ban me then I will apologize and be more vigilant so whatever it was won't happen again, but I would need to know what I did first. One of the service techs rode in the truck and noticed a bunch of the issues happening, even the crash detected alarm and visual cue on the dash started going off when we were on the interstate going 65, and he said he also heard the grinding noises from the rear end and heard and felt the draft from the doors. But when I went back to pick up the truck they said nothing was wrong and the tech just stood there for a couple of beats then turned and walked away.

All are my suggestions. Keep the lawyer out unless all else fails. They will take it as a threat. Ford customer service is your friend and has capabilities (like authorizing a loaner or paying for a rental and if it drags out can even pay your payment or give you an extended warranty) that the dealer does not. prioritize your list, you don't want them spending days on a air leak and not the 4wd. Help them diagnose the truck, Nobody knows your truck and what it does like you do. Make notes of what and under what conditions it does things. Like said earlier sitting outside at night in extreme cold could affect things. Do you have some place to keep it inside over night to see if it makes a difference. Is it parked on an incline? it could affect fluid levels. If you always buy gas at the same place, change for a tank or 2. See if they will let you drive a similar truck for a couple days and use it exactly as you do yours and see/note the differences. If they can't duplicate the problem they can't fix it so take a video of it to show them what it does and under what conditions. Have faith, it's a good truck and ANYTHING can be fixed. Keep us posted. Night Brother......101st
Thank you for your suggestions, I appreciate it a lot. I've been keeping notes as best I can when it acts up so I'm hoping they will help at my upcoming service appt. I completely understand about the lawyer thing, my friend wanted to see if he could help out in some way, he not some big shot prosecutor or anything, just a jeans and tee shirt rural lawyer so I wouldn't think he'd appear intimidating. But either way it didn't help unfortunately and he felt bad about how things went so he said he won't get involved again unless things get really out of hand and then he'll have me talk to his boss at the firm if need be. Ford customer care has been pretty good to talk to about this, it's just tough to hear them say it could take 3-5 weeks for things to start happening on their end, and then possibly months to come to a resolution. It's tough to hear they may have the truck that long to have their warranty and recall groups look into it, all the while still having to make the monthly payments even if they hold the vehicle for a long time. I'm gonna keep working with them, I really don't have a choice anyway, but I want to do what needs to be done to either have the issues repaired or truck replaced as soon as possible.
And thanks for writing a response that wasn't trashing me like so many have been. I found this site and needed to vent a bit about the situation. After seeing some of the other threads posted on here I didn't consider mine to be anywhere near as angry as some seemed to be. All about perception I guess. And I know I'm new to this forum, after all I only got the truck on Oct 31st, and my last ranger was an '88 model year that I had in high school; but I don't understand why people keep calling me taco. Is that something people say as an insult nowadays? The past few years I've spent most of my time in the hospital so I've missed out on a lot, guess I'm not to informed on the new slang in society.

The guy is just venting and the best place to vent is the Ranger forum.
Thank you. That's exactly why I wrote on here, to vent about the truck's issues so it wouldn't stress me out so much. I didn't realize so many people were going to get so weird about it and trash talk so much. It's actually pretty funny reading all the comments trying to insult me though. All I can do is laugh at them, jumping to conclusions about who I am but never actually asking anything about the situation to understand what's been going on. And some people seem upset that I'm not on here 24/7 to keep it updated, lol, who really has that much time on their hands to keep track of people that closely on a random web forum!!!

A lot of us are on here quite a bit, sometimes to much lol I think it just look like a troll post because you just signed up on Tuesday and posted this on Wednesday then never came back until now. Plus you have to realize a lot of us came from a Tacoma and the Toyota World site is a chit show so it gave many of us flashbacks, :giggle:

Like Phil said it sounds like there's an electrical problem somewhere and I think there were a few others who've had similar issues and that's what it was. It seems like yours is worse though so hopefully you get this all straightened out soon. Good luck!

it makes sense if someone got abusive--businesses don't actually have to put up with people acting badly. but mostly there's just no point in getting too invested in a dramatic one-sided story.
I never got abusive, I know I was frustrated and was sometimes short with them, partly because of the truck issues and partly because of the daily severe pain from my injuries when I was in the army. You can call them and see what they say if you want. I'd be interested in hearing what they say too since I'm not sure what I did that was so horrible. The other dealerships I contacted and went to all had horror stories to tell about the dealership I got the truck at, I took them all with a grain of salt because, as you point out with my post, it's only one side of the story. The dealership is Luther Family Ford, Fargo ND

This is the first web forum I've ever posted on so I'm not too familiar with the etiquette of it all I guess. I don't even have any social media accounts, unless this site is considered one. I didn't even pick up on why people kept saying things about Toyota Tacomas until I read what you just wrote. Before this ranger I had a F-150 that had no issues at all, a Xterra that wasn't too bad, a Silverado 1500 HD that had a cracked head and broken gears in the rear diff at a few months into owning it, before that a Colorado that had a cracked head at 6000 miles had a transmission replacement right before that, then the radiator somehow burst open along the side, and something happened with 3 of the 5 cylinders and they had to be replaced, and it was at the dealership for so long getting fixed that a family of mice moved in behind the rear seat cushion. I'm pretty sure I'm cursed when it comes to vehicles.

Then, by all means, sir, post copies of the original RO's (repair orders) which outline your issues, nobody here will give credence to your claimed issues with the vehicle with handwritten notes.

At this point, I don't want further participation from the OP, I just want the name of the dealer where this happened so it can be verified that this isn't a huge trolling attempt.

If that doesn't happen immediately, it's time to shut the thread down.

Jealous Tacoma owners are stooping to new lows.
Sorry, never owned a Tacoma. Never liked them.

Think it's 30mph
A Ford customer care rep I've been working with said pedestrian detection is active from 3 to 50 mph and according to the description it should alert you any time someone is within a certain area covered by the windshield camera and sensors in the bumper. She explained that even if you are able to stop in time without the vehicle applying emergency braking assistance it should still alert since he was in the path of the vehicle, and that alert will also be sent to your fordpass app and show up in the alerts tab.

Why would both back wheels spin, there's no locker on the rear differential. I can see if my friend's kids would like to write in on here, they thought it was pretty cool that the tire was moving when it was in park. It's only done it when I've stopped on a large patch of ice or snow covered ice. I was wondering if there's a sensor in the traction control that may be the issue, sensing ground condition wrong and trying to push power to the tire with traction. I'm not sure why it can do that in park either, but I do know mine isn't the only one that's moved forward after being shifted into park. Ford customer care rep said there was a recall for that issue on 2019 rangers and also the fusion I believe.
So the tire and wheel were actually spinning after you placed in into park, or was it skidding as a result of being parked on a large patch of ice or snow-covered ice?
There is a definite difference between the words "spin" and "skid".
I am not trying to make light of your personal situation, those who have sacrificed in any shape for our country are truly indebted by all American citizens, you just need to provide accurate information to substantiate your claims

I've uploaded two pics that show my list of everything that has been going wrong with my Ranger since the day I got it, Oct 31, 2019. Now I can also add that the truck doesn't actually have, or it doesn't work, the system that is supposed to assist in applying brake pressure when it detects a pedestrian. A guy stepped out in the street in front of my truck two days ago, luckily I was only going 10-15 mph. I was able to push the brakes and stop about 2-3 inches from running the man over. There was never a single audible or visual warning or alarm that took place. There was no adaptive braking by the vehicle either. After being in 5 times to try and get this stuff repaired, the dealership told me I'm not allowed to bring it back for anything, and I'm not allowed to come on the lot unless it's to buy a new vehicle. I've been to 3 other Ford dealerships that will not service it either. It's a pile of junk, isn't even capable of towing 6000 pounds without causing the engine to misfire and then stall within less than 2 miles of towing.

I'm in the process of going through a lemon law buy back on my 2019 XLT with Ford. Have also had 4WD issues and weather stripping falling off along with a dozen or so other issues that have not been fixed after almost 50 days in service since July.

Call ford customer care. Took 4 tries and over 4 months for them to finally agree to buy back the truck. So be persistent and don't take no for an answer.

Debating if I even want another ranger or if I should get a tacoma...

True. Don't really care for the way it drives. Engine feels dead compared to the Ranger but then again if it doesn't have to go back to the dealer 12 times if the first 6 months...
