2020 Ranger Ghost touch/A. Auto issues

Hello all it's been a while....got this truck from the beginning.....had occasional AAuto disconnecting. I would pull the plug and put it back in and would be fine. The last month the touchscreen is ghost touching like crazy. I hard booted it. I soft booted it. To.no avail. It will go a day or so then come back. Hangs up on my wife lol all kinds of things. My thoughts are could this all be because of the degrading of the touchscreen? My first thought is replacing the touch screen and possibly the USB ports to fix the issues?

Unless you’re using a hammer instead of your finger, I don’t think the screen itself would be degrading. My truck stays parked outside 24/7, summer heat 100°+ and winters that get down to 25°. I haven’t had issues with the touchscreen not working or acting up.

Do you have a screen protector on it? I put one in my work truck and it sometimes acted weird. Took it off and it’s fine now.

Nope no screen protector ....look up ghost touch 2020 Ford ranger ...it's unreal it actually looks like someone is touching the screen

I'm at wits end. I love this truck. But between the a. Auto disconnecting and now this issue....

So let me put it like this pretend you're sink 3 is on. You know when you press the button it highlights and then goes to your desired function that you pressed... It's doing it without someone physically touching the screen. You see the button get highlighted and it goes to something else. If you're on the phone, it hangs up...ghost touch common problem for sync 3 systems....

Is Sync up to date?

I haven't heard of ghost touching before. I don't think that it is common on Rangers. If Sync version is up to date, then it sounds like a defective touch screen. Was anything spilled onto the screen?

Sync is up to date and nothing was ever spilled. It's a real thing...I guess this forum is truly stumped on this one.

Try a few things-
Fuse pull or system resets
Check the trim around the screen, try pulling it outwards a bit, might be tweaking the screen some, but it sounds like the screen is bad. Heat / Moisture

That's what I'm thinking. Also....do h think I should also change the USB ports? To help with the android auto issue?
